He allegedly bit a finger and accidentally pulled Keith's hair in a fight one time, has never been suspended, has never taken cheap shots at players. Plays his heart out every game, goes to battle for his teammates. He will be a leader in the Sens room. Yes I think Burrows best years are behind him, but to come from the Playoffs ECHL to a 30 goal scorer is quite remarkable.

People were hyping 9th round pick Jannik Hansen?
Bourdon is a bit of a mystery as he seemed to be destined for bigger and better things as he had all the tools for a young NHL defenseman.
Virtanen is looking like a bust but the fan base was pretty split on him from the start and has all but soured on him now three years from his draft.
Hodgson as well - he looked like he had all the tools but I think he was mishandled, especially with his back injury after which he never looked like he was the same player. Losing an entire developmental year can really derail a career pretty quickly. He put together a couple good seasons before his footspeed caught up to him.
When a team is awful the fans look towards the future and the glimmer of hope that it may bring. The Canucks were very good/elite for a number of years, during which time their prospect pool took a beating. Now it is beginning to fill up a little bit but it will still take more time.

This scumbag Burrows taunted a man for being physically and mentally abused by his father.
http://www.tsn.ca/o-sullivan-canucks...abuse-1.410798
Also he taunted Tootoo about his addictions and his family.
He's a true scumbag and is a bad human being. Fitting he played for such a scummy organization for so long.
But the Sens GM got hugs from his players LOL that is literally the funniest thing I've ever heard.

I don't believe it. My opinion is not just based on the notion that Burrows is widely considered to be an unpopular player throughout the NHL, it is because I have never heard a GM make such a ridiculous claim about the results of ANY trade. Can anyone recall another time when a GM reported about how happy his players were with a recent acquisition? Usually, players will text one another and these are picked up by social media outlets. This sounds like textbook propaganda.

As I said, anyone who's ever cheered for Burrows knowing the kind of person he is should be ashamed of themselves.

His antics don't make him endeared to NHL fans but the way he plays the game make him a valuable addition on a team. He seems to have matured in his years and having watched the latest After Hours he seems contrite regarding what was said about Patrick O'Sullivan and he has done some very good things in the community with the "If you can play" and "mindcheck" initiatives.
He will always have his detractors but I do think that he deserves the opportunity to redeem himself.

I cheered for Burrows and am damn proud of it. He was a big part of the Canucks success the past 10 years. And no you aren't a better person then me because I liked Burrows and you think he's trash.

yikes really going through the archives to prove he's "trash" eh?
people here are acting like he has ended careers here my gosh.
Burrows is a respected guy in the community and apparently in the hockey community as well as teams were wanting his service. five vets shook Dorians hand when he made the deal
your own personal bias/hatred towards Burrows or the Canucks is showing.

Canucks were successful the last 10 years? They were literally the most hated team in the league and didn't win squat and a big part of that was because scumbag Burrows was on the team.
You know you're hated when all of Canada was cheering against you and for the American team. A major reason for that was Burrows.

I think it's deplorable you'd support someone who's that vile of a human being and look past what he's done because he puts on the jersey of a team you cheer for.
That bit with O'Sullivan speaks for itself.
What you guys tell yourselves to excuse it is weak. He's a bad person, and if he played for a team I cheer for I'd have no problem calling a spade a spade.

It is a sport, people cheer for players on their favourite team, it isn't an indictment against them as a person. This argument, which you have oft made, serves to make you look foolish as you don't know me or anything about me other than what hockey team I cheer for. I know that you like to judge people based off of arbitrary labels such as what hockey team someone cheers for, you should be ashamed of yourself.

A respected guy in the community means nothing when that community is in Vancouver. A city that burns their own city and riots and then blames it on the outskirts of Vancouver.

Ya that was sure difficult stuff to look up
I'm not sure what's hard to grasp here:
He told someone he knew that was abused as a child that he wants to hurt him like his abuser did. Let that sink in for a moment, all because he wanted to get a rise out of him in a game they were playing.
It's disgusting.
And don't give me the community work. All NHL players are mandated by their clubs to do it. It doesn't excuse what he's done to players like O'Sullivan and Tootoo.

I don't really care if you don't like it.
As I said, it's common knowledge he's mocked people for addition and being abused as a child.
I'm sorry, but if you are willing to put that aside because he puts on a jersey you like, I look down on that.
If you want to look down on me for looking down on that, feel free.

Not a problem, even then I don't recall many people hyping Jensen other than your usual rabble rabble first round pick stuff. Jankowski gets the similar thing, people like to project unrealistic expectations based on future potential.

Those were still high picks by the Canucks that they failed to develop. If you are saying they were good during those years as a reason to why those players were not developed properly ok... don't see it. Not saying all their draft picks have been busts but recently they have been pretty poor as far as development goes. If you were a young prospect would you want to develop under the Canucks with all that pressure their fan base puts on them to be the best thing since sliced bread? I mean just look at how recent picks have turned out, most of the Canuck fan base would agree that outside of Horvat their first round picks of recent mememory have been developed poorly.
