Look, I think we're all missing the main problem with Moonlight that makes it a poor film: it insists upon itself.

Good lord. Salma Hayek is fifty years old... and look at her. Unreal.

All he did was hand out the wrong envelope at the Oscars... why not name him?
Nobody will care about this in a week. Barely anybody cares about it today.
Life ruining? Hyperbole alert!
You want all of this to come up when someone googles your name? I think it's a horse#### move to not protect your employees. Even if you plan on firing them, just fire them, don't publicly shame them.
I still don't know the dudes name. (Unless his name is Lookslike Matt Damon.) Because I don't care.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

"Sorry Mr.Cullinan, we can't hire you because you chose an envelope from the wrong pile and led us to believe La La Land had won... have you seen La La Land? It was a delight!"
Said no interviewer, ever.
Nobody cares. Spit me out a hundred more "5 Things You Didn't Know About Brian Cullinan" articles, it doesn't matter.
Everyone knew it was one of the two of them, everyone knew his name already (he was already 'famous' for the guy who looked like Matt Damon). It just doesn't matter.

The irony of polak posting 1 large picture and 7 articles naming a man who I (and probably countless others on this board) had no idea whose name was, while ranting about how horrible it was that he was named, has just occurred to me.

Cats out of the bag and I was more so saying how ####ty it is of PwC to throw him under the bus like that, not how no one would ever find out who he was.
How is pointing out that he ####ed up akin to throwing him under the bus? He's not being fired (advantages of being partner), and I betcha he's back at the Oscars next year unless PwC is replaced. He'll have some jokes made at his expense, but he'll be fine and dandy. Tabloids being tabloids is nothing new.

Doesn't throw him under the bus imply covering for their own asses? Isn't it completely his fault?
And really who cares! OMG they Mis announced an awards show no one will remember by Friday after Trumps next speech!

Why say his name?
Just say there was mistake and they're taking action to correct it so doesn't happen again.
No need to be like "Brian Cullinan did it!" unless he volunteered to take the blame or something.

In the Corporate World excrement occasionally needs to travel uphill.
If he was lax in his diligence regarding oversight resulting in an error such as this then it is his responsibility.
If Brian Cullinan missed the fact that Jerry in Craft Services was lax on refilling the enchilada stand and as a result Jim got low blood sugar and ended up mixing up the envelopes because his wife has been sleeping around on him due to his rampant abuse of a copious amount of opiates then thats on Brian.
Thats a quality control issue and that has to go to the top.
