Well, this is a most pleasant game result to wake up to. Great job, Flames!

Some days I think the CBC gets way too much grief.

Today when they are being held to account for Sportsnet's amateur night production is one of those days.

Yeah, with that level of arrogance, it won't be long until the rest of the Jets hate him too.

the thing that truly is awesome about this stretch is that it has been a full team effort for the turnaround. Not one guy necessarily.

They look so confident and tough to beat.

Spoiler!

He wasn't hanging his head in shame he was hanging his head in drunk. He was comatose for 2 periods. Worse was his buddy left after 2 and he was on his own. He was like that after the game. By himself in an empty section.
Hopefully, that's Resurrection.

Chad is our guy tho. Man I was impressed with his interview. Guy made it very clear that he has been playing great hockey for years now. Really came off confident that he is this teams starter. I think we could extend him for below market value as it seems he loves playing here and being close to family.

Is it just me or does it seem like the Flames typically play better in December most years?

Yeah I am a little wary of this December hot streak. I am thrilled it has brought the team into the thick of the playoff chase but I'm not quite with the I told you so crowd yet. But so so happy to be watching meaningful hockey.

Chad Johnson is a good goalie and had a higher career save percentage than Elliott coming into the season. I would like to see him signed for 3 years.

Chad Johnson reminds me of Craig Anderson.

Kind of took his time developing and then in his late 20's really took a step, but with the slow trajectory and low "pedigree" nobody would really accept that he was a legit top end starter in the NHL until he sustained it for a few years.

The WAY they are playing has made me a believer. They are playing hockey the right way and are being rewarded.

14-15 they were throwing up hail Mary's and getting lucky. 40 foot putts and all that.

They'll put his clothes in the shower to teach him a lesson soon enough

The Johnson Interview on After Hours

Local Calgary boy is giving his team the best goaltending since Kipprusoff and giving his team a chance to make the playoffs.

What a story he's been.

Wow listening to him in that interview is quite incredible.

So calm, relaxed and confident.

Why isn't Byfluglien getting a one game suspension for clearly instigating a fight? Is that rule gone or just terribly enforced?

After watching this it is obvious this man is committed and this isn't a fluke. What a great signing by Treliving.

Some astute poster noted that they gave him a 'roughing' minor instead of an 'instigator' minor penalty. That essentially bypasses the suspension. I didn't realize that was possible until last night.

I have no doubt that his star status helped him evade that penalty. Which is just ridiculous.
