I'd like him to figure out how to play on the right. Which IMO he did tonight.

Yes, it is more significant, you're right. The "Old 500" no longer means anything in terms of an NHL team's success. The only meaning is a psychological one.

Hm. I'm not sure how Chad's save percentage didn't go up after a .964 performance. Maybe stats are still updating.
Edit: nm, on his individual page it's .932 now.

In which case, 9-13-6 would have been under .500 by traditional rules (and also under .500 points percentage as that would be 24 of 56 possible points)
Anyways I am just glad to finally be .500 - if you think 13 Wins 13 losses 2OT Loss is .500 you have every right to an opinion, but that's not .500 to me. It's a .500 point percentage, but not a .500 winning percentage which in sports lingo is what we call "five-hundred"

9-13-6 is not .500 in any situation. There's no logic in saying you have to take out wins, as a win is still the same. It's a win and it's worth 2 points. A regulation loss is different than an OT/SO loss, since they have different outcomes in the standings.
In sports lingo .500 is not wins divided by games. It's the number of points won out of total points they could have won. It's not games won, it's points won. The Arizona Cardinals have a .458 winning percentage as per the official NFL website, with a 5-6-1 record. That's 5.5/12.
Winning percentage is wins divided by games only in leagues that only have wins and losses. Baseball and basketball would qualify.
Yes, Wikipedia is not a scientific website, but it also has the same sentiment. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winning_percentage

Squiggs, forget about it. You're trying to win an argument with logic. He's just kicking you in the balls with his clownshoes. Doesn't matter that you're making sense, you still lose by engaging.

Nice read and hands in tight by Dougie, loved him blowing right by Doan.
Domi is a punk. Glad that Hathaway got up and gave him the business.

It's too bad there's no way to make separate threads about this kind of stuff, so the only choice is to post about it in a post game thread after a win.

Remember how the Oilers started the season with a 7-1 record and had the 2nd best Vegas odds to win the Stanley Cup?
We're now tied with them in points hahahahaha

They played bad for a good chunk of the game...but still won. Big swing from earlier this season.

When you're covering the Yotes regularly I think you cling on to every bit of excitement you can.. They came out in the first swinging and could've easily buried us if it weren't for the Chad. I was pretty impressed (also disappointed in how the Flames came out). First games after travel-heavy road trips aren't easy and the Flames came in red hot. Cut them a bit of slack, the Coyotes did have really decent stretches in this game. Just not enough finishers on that team.
Plus the Flames might very well be the deadliest OT team in the league. I think there isn't a player that uses the open ice better than Johnny.

Is it fair to say that Tkachuks style of play and production is exactly what was expected when Brouwer got 4.5Mx4yrs?
Edit:wrong cap hit. Point remains the same though.

That's only because Oiler fans were putting money down on them.

Great to beat Phoenix after having to sit through that horrid style of play.

Would have been a ridiculous expectation. Brouwer is playing now like he has for pretty much his whole career. If that's worth 4.5M to you, then he's pretty much exactly meeting expectation.

Forget the salary then. My question is:
Is Tkachuk not playing the way one might have expected Brouwer to when he was acquired?
