Good grief. I want to believe that Elliott will improve, but his positioning on that goal was horrendous.
I don't care that it went in. It was a perfect shot and no goaltender could have stopped it.
His positioning though, FML. Angles his body down and away from the puck... puts his blocker in front of his pad. About the only way he could make himself smaller to Tavares were if he turtled on the ice.
Looking at that photo, would you ever guess, judging by Elliott's positioning, that the puck went over his right shoulder?
