Thought it was a good first for us; just need to stay out of the box. Johnson looks sharp. Unfortunately our PP is still hot garbage

Throw Stajan on the top line. Monahan is brutal

Solid road period overall. Flames are playing well defensively, Johnson is in the zone, and the PK has looked very good. Just gotta get the damn PP going. Gaudreau is starting to show signs of life, but Mony is still terrible. They really need to split that line up.

Feels like a late game. Only players on the ice with any energy are Frolik, Backlund, and Pavelski.

Thought Brodie had a good period despite his pp woes which really isn't his fault. He's being forced to play the quarterback on the pp which isn't his game.

It's so nice to see the other team take high shots and not expect them to go in 75% of the time. Johnson is so composed in there

I read that as the Flames being #1 on the PK. I wish...

As much as people are roasting Monahan (for good reason) at least he's trying this time, before it looked like he didn't want to have anything to do with a diseased puck.

At what point does the PP coach realize it's not working and change the set-up/strategy?

It's no wonder Monahan signed that contract quick....looks to be highway robbery for him right now. He's playing truly awful. If he's injured he should sit, he's hurting the team.

Watching Bennett and Backlund play so well at centre, I can't help but wonder if Monahan ought to be moved to Bennett's wing. His footspeed / lack of puck skills would be less of an issue at wing?

Is it really that complicated?

The teams top 2 d and top 2 forwards have been awful.

Hmmm. The PP is terrible.

Leave Backs on the TBF line, move up Bennett who's been playing solid.

They probably want to keep the pairs intact. Gaudreau-Backlund-Frolik would be just fine though.

Monahan can face easier competition on the third line to try and get him going.

Other than the penalties, not sure why people are upset, decent period by the road team.

I do wish gaudreau shot on the 2 on 1. He's gotta shoot to keep dmen and goalies honest and guessing.
