Also, no different than stories I'd heard about Kipper, Iginla, Phaneuf... etc. I think it's just the lifestyle.

And if the stories are true, it should come as a surprise to nobody though. These are rich young men traveling to multiple cities and have celebrity status. As long as they play hockey well, none of the rest really matters. But if they don't play well... you gotta wonder.

But I thought he was pretty good last night actually.
My uncle, who played NHL hockey (Boston and Detroit) always talked about the wild lifestyle of some of his team mates. When he retired he was always a little reluctant to trust other men around his wife.

I have heard crazy stories about players that you would have never thought would be like that off the ice. If I had a daughter I don't know if I would want her to marry an NHL player.

They'll be fine.

Couldn't disagree more with your last statement though, and really shows some ignorance on your part. "Doesn't matter' who's on their RW? A rotating door makes it very difficult to develop chemistry. It mattered back when we tried to have David Moss play with Iginla, and it matters now. Really head-scratching assertion on your part.
So which is it? Is it missing training camp or is it the rotating door. You are agreeing and disagreeing with me in the same reply.

They pretty much had a rotating rw last year and it worked out fine. Hudler was no good last year and David Jones and Ferland spent lots of time with them.

Are you being obtuse? My original post said that was part of it. As in there are several, obvious factors to anyone who's remotely aware of the situation.

Monahan and Gaudreau both missed camp. They both have the expectations of signing those new expensive contracts, both stepped into a completely new system with a new coach attempting to hit the ground running, and haven't had a stable line-mate.

All of those things contributed to their slow start.

It didn't work out fine. We missed the playoffs and that line was largely neutralized on the road. There's no doubt they can carry the load between the two of them but it's outright ridiculous to deny the fact finding a stable line-mate with chemistry would bolster their production. As I said in my original response that prompted your 'fanboy' comment, I don't think that's Chiasson. That's my opinion. Whether or not someone on the roster will find stable chemistry and stick with them remains to be seen, but it's something that's going to need to happen to see the team have success this season.

Is there not a difference between partied the night before a game and out until 4am the night before a game.

Don't get me wrong, far from the first or only current Flame I'd guess to be out until 4am, but it doesn't mean it might not be a problem. Why is everything so black and white all the time. It's either, it's not an issue and part of the lifestyle, or it's a biggest issue ever. Truth is, I bet Johnny probably does need to tone it down, but doesn't mean he can't party hard at all.

Sometimes people under 25 (especially those with money) do inadvisable things.

More obvious news at 11.

Olli Jokinen said the team lost to Chicago because they spent the night before the games in Chicago getting trashed.

That's a bit more troubling to me than something in October.
