So yeah, like I said, the variance of opinions is quite amazing.
The fact that everyone is so adamant about their own opinion is also fascinating (considering the variance)

Just an idea, but with Jankowski, he did start his NCAA career on the right wing for his first season. With the Flames lack of options on the right side, having someone that is a responsible defensive center on the wing may allow for some flexibility. You obviously wouldn't keep him there beyond this season, but having Jankowski available on the RW, would allow the Flames to throw a guy like Frolik on the first line and have him partnered with Backlund instead. The Flames did that with Bennett for most of his rookie year. Additionally, if there are center injuries, you can just shift Janko over. I think he is NHL ready.

Why will Bouma never have a season like that again? He's one season removed during which he was out for a large portion of with injuries. Kind of hard to be making absolute statements before he has a healthy attempt at playing at that level again.

I see this brought up a lot (I have brought it up too) but I think he is too good as a center to put on the wing. I think he'd be great with the top pairing (maybe on PP?) given how well he can think the game and make passes.
My criticism of him from what we've seen is that I don't think he can spell intencity, but maybe that will come in time. I hear Stockton toughens guys up pretty quick too.

Has he been given some opportunities yes and the results were a mixed bag. Some good, some bad.
I think everyone agrees he's lacking consistency offensively as a goal scorer. Overall though he gives us way more positive shifts than not, and he has the skill to be more consistent offensively someday.

Hey I'll still be cheering for him and I hope to god that he can be a great top 9 forward. New season new coach who knows.

Bouma is playing well, but Ferland is playing as well or better in this game.
I hope they both have good years on the bottom 2 lines.

Some good = 2015 playoffs
Some bad = everything else
If he's a plug in the regular season and a beast in the post, that's worth keeping around though.

He's not a goal scorer. Consistency has nothing to do with it. He's had one huge year as a 19 year old, playing opposite wing from Mark Stone and that seems to have stuck. There just isn't much skill there.

Hunter Smith looks out of his element. Wearing concrete blocks on his feet and has no hands.
