Un-freaking-believable!

Incredible comeback effort from Winnipeg, but that was an epic last possession for the Stamps.

Was that really a catch before the FG? Might have hit the turf?

Geez I didn't think Parades had that leg in him anymore. He never really did have a huge leg.

Gord Miller and Duane Forde can suck it too. Miller totally thought that win was cemented.

Wow. Speechless. Kudos to the Bombers for not quitting. Kudos to the Stamps for not quitting either!

Just win baby!

As Duane Forde said during the telecast, how lucky were the Stamps to get Lemar Durant at pick #18 in the 2015 draft?

Well we had Calgary beat, and they came back and proved they were the better team. Good game though.

Miller heartbroken.
Bigger issue out of this will be Messam.

I like Winnipeg emerging as our main rival this year. They're a much more likeable rival than Saskatchewan, Edmonton, or even BC. Only other team in the west that don't actively root against when they're not playing the Stamps.

True but that's just because they've been so bad for so long. If they are for real and actually becoming a good team here they will get easier to despise in no time.

At least for me anyways.

eh. I don't despise the Stamps and they've been good for a long time. I just dont see the Stamps and Bombers as "hated rivals". The Stamps are too busy hating Edmonton and Regina. Bombers too busy hating Regina.

Everyone is too busy hating the Riders.
I don't hold nearly the disdain for the 'smos than I do for the Riders.

Easy win turned into a nail-biter with help from the refs/command center/injuries.

Don't think the game would've been close had McDaniel/Messam stayed in the game. Having Peredes playing hurt didn't help either.

That SCC play was not a catch, those PI challenges don't give defences a chance to defend.

Still got the win, good teams find a way to win. Bad teams find a way to lose. Winniepg is still a tier or two below the Stamps.

Yep, i don't agree with the couple of Command Centre review. Maybe they started drinking early or something/ They called a completed pass by McDaniel as an incomplete pass. The ball hit McDaniel's right hand and it bounced. Then they called Campeau's catch complete when it was cleared he didn't have a control of the ball. I thought in order to call it completed pass is the receiver must have a control of the ball and he took a step.

I won't even use Paredes, McDaniel and Messam's injury as an excuse but both offense and defense went cold in the 2nd half and there was no excuse why the Stamps needed a FG to win the game after dominating the first half. Happy with the win but I hope they learned their lesson on this game. Looks like they got comfortable after the first half and lost the killer instinct.

I really agree with this, when I saw on my FB feed that it was a battle of top teams I had to bring up the standings because I didn't believe it. That said, I am a pretty casual fan and usually only pay attention to Calgary.

Just when you think Stampeders got the game on the bag, they let the Bombers comes back into the game and even almost gave the game away. Give the Blue Bombers credit though because they made some adjustment in the 2nd half and came close to winning the game.

Stamps definitely dominated the first half in all 3 facets of the game. They were ahead by 27-7 after the first half and could have scored more. In the 2nd half both offense and defense went flat. Offense managed to do 4 FG attempts and one of them hit the crossbar. Defense on the other hand started getting beat by Nichols and his offense. They seems to have problem stopping the slick RB Flanders and Nichols short passes. Special Team was pretty good all game especially Roy Finch.

OFFENSE:

Mitchell threw 361 yards and 2 TDs in the game. Most of his passing yards came in the first half. Offense had a great start scoring a TD in their first possession. Looks like Stamps found another receiver in Kamar Jorden. If he keeps up playing like today's game, Dickenson will start losing his hair because he'll have a problem trying to insert Bakari Grant back in the lineup after his 6-games injured term expires. Air Jorden was Mitchell's favorite target today especially after McDaniel got hurt. Jorden caught 9 passes for 126 yards and 1 TD. He was one of the important component in that late drive. Another young player who had a huge game was Lamar Durant. He scored the other TD pass by Mitchell in the first half. He also caught the most important pass in the game giving Rene Paredes a chance to score the winning FG from 52 yard line. Durant caught 4 passes for 74 yards and 1 TD. Marquay McDaniel was great in the 1st half. Whenever Stamps needed a first down on 2nd and long, Mitchell pass the ball to McDaniel. Quay got hurt late in 1st half and missed about half of the 3rd quarter. He caught 5 passes for 87 yards. It would have been close to 100 yards if the command centre did not overrule the nice catch he made. Referee on the field called it a complete pass and the replay showed it too. Davaris Daniels went 5 for 63 yards as well. RB Jerome Messam caught 3 passes for 12 yards and rushed the ball 12 times for 79 yards and 1 TD. Messam left the game with concussion-like injury late in the game.

DEFENSE:

Defense were awesome in the 1st half. They pretty much shut down Nichols offense and did not give him some time to throw the ball. Nichols got sacked twice (Wiggan and Minter) and got intercepted once by Jamar Wall. The only mistake they made in the first half was letting RB Flanders rushed for 50 yards TD. That was on a 3rd and 1 gamble too.

2nd half, not sure if the reason Nichols were successful in his short passes was because of the Bombers adjustment or defense stops pressuring the QB.

SPECIAL TEAM:

Roy Finch had a huge game today. He managed to returned 297 yards in total (205 yards in punt return and 92 yards in kickoff return). His longest punt return was for 54 yards and he pretty much gave the Stamps offense good possession every time he return punts or kickoff. Punter Rob Maver was pretty good punting the ball and he also took over the kickoff after Paredes got hurt. Maver punted the ball to Bombers 3 yard line in the first quarter. K Rene Paredes missed a FG attempt in the 2nd half but he more than made up for it kicking a winning FG from the 52 yard line with no time left in the game.

***********************************************
Overall, I am very happy with the win but it didn't even have to rely on Paredes late FG to win the game. They made some mistakes in the 2nd half and let the Bombers come back in the game. Thanks to command centre too for overturning a catch and then declared a catch and fumble on Simon Charbonneau-Campeau even though he didn't have a control on the ball. Oh well I am just glad they came back and won the game 35-34. They are now unbeaten in 12 games and on a 10th game winning streak.

I reserve the hate for teams with a-holes on the team (eg Riders with Chris Jones) or with a-hole fan bases (eg also Riders and their fans)

Bomber fans deserve a winning team after so many years of mediocrity too so i have some sympathy for them.

Besides, what better way to stick it to Rider fans than to have not one, but both of their hated rivals succeeding while their own team is in the toilet?

Didn't like the 2nd half at all. This team has a really bad habit of stiitting on halftime leads. Could come back to haunt them in the playoffs if they don't develope more of a killer instinct. The Bombers had no business being in this game.
