A little more lean or lunge and De Grasse might have had a medal at the line.

Did the US anchor run out of his lane just prior to the finish? Japan maybe as well.

Looked like some of the exchanges were not great from Canada. Not terrible but even De Grasse at the end wasn't imo at as full speed as I think he could've been in the zone when receiving it.
And just like Canada got dqed in London, best to examine the replay of the top 3 teams.

He was definitely over the lane line on his second or third last step before the line.

The only reason I'd whine about that is the number of times we've been burned because of that.

Definitely just before the finish both Japan and the US stepped on the line. Is that an infraction, or do you have to step into the neighboring lane?
Edit: beaten, but I have the slo-mo proof on the PVR!

I think both USA and Japan should be DQ'ed.
It would be a pretty crappy way to win a medal though.

it would be ironic if the broadcast had been raving about the Japanese exchanges and technical skills and they get DQ'd

Would rather win a medal due to a technical DQ than losing a medal dud to a technical DQ.
