Except they're not being compromised because he's on the record saying what he says. If someone else takes that and spews some crap, the record is still there so it really doesn't matter.

It's the other person's reputation and relationships being damaged.

No, because he constantly has to prove to people what he actually said. That gets tiring. He gets really nothing out of radio spots. People are just upset because they don't get the inside info now they feel they're entitled to

haha that's the second thread that you've randomly made that up and just lobbed it out there. You think he only gives "scoops" to the fan? I'm pretty sure when he gives inside info on TO radio or CBC or whatever else, it is the same as he gives on the radio in Calgary. We don't get special insider scoops. I'll continue to read them when Sureloss posts them on CP, regardless of whether Elliott is on the fan 960 anymore.

I'll repeat, if Friedman's relationships are so fragile that fake news is hurting them, then he has more to worry about than appearing on the fan a couple of times per week.

In fact, if one was so inclined, they could continue to make up these rumours even when he's not on the radio!!!

I don't know that the relationships are fragile, but it is hard to get sources to trust you and if they think that the trust is broken - it is hard to repair. They have to be protected and nurtured.
