They did teams to prevent the 4 returnees from automatically being a team by making each of them captain. I think that worked.
This season could have been really good except the players are playing stupid

I read that on realityblurred, which has a mixed record when it comes to rumors. I find this hard to believe since the fall TV schedules have already been announced, unless there's was some writer's strike looming. Can't see them doing another one in mid-September which would be immediately after this one ends, and I think BB would have a hard time surviving in the fall. Winter/Spring might be more plausible as they've done it before. If this happens I think it's because they want to get 19 out of the way quickly and do an all-stars or legends edition for season 20.
As for the Survivor/BB comparison, Survivor has been on a hot streak for four years now after going back to basics. That's probably what BB needs if they want to be taken more seriously, but again I doubt the showrunners would change a show that has been successful for them in the ratings every summer.

Every year people say is boring and then reference it being good in a few years as a comparable

Nothing will be worse than season 15 and 16. Now those were boring seasons.
This one has been okay so far. I think it'll pick up again after Frank goes and someone goes after the showmances.

I like most of the cast this year which helps.
Most years people don't like the show if the cast are a bunch of jerks or if the entire house is bullied to vote a certain way every week.
I think all the show needs is a way to encourage flipping. Right now there's not much incentive to piss people off because they'll be jury and you want to keep them happy. I'd like to see more stuff be anonymous. Maybe have veto announcement happen right before vote. Make people not have time to talk it over for 4 days. I don't know. Then back doors become too common maybe.

15 was a mess from start to finish. I liked Derrick's domination in S16, so I really enjoyed that season. To me, he's the best player not named Dan Gheesling. Here come the Dr Will fans......

Do you use some other metric to measure time?

Yeah I wasn't a huge Derrick fan but I did appreciate his brilliance in manipulating the house. To go to the end and win without being on the block even once is pretty incredible.

Few=small amount
11 days=not even two weeks
11 days can't be considered "last few weeks". Not in my book at least.
When I hear "last few weeks", I'm thinking last 3-4 weeks.
By the way, worst argument ever.

and that was during the season where 4 people were nominated at the beginning of the week(Battle of the block season), making it even more impressive for Derrick to never get nominated.

I'm one of those Dr. Will fans, lol. I'm obviously biased, but I have to see Derrick return and dominate before putting him above the other two for best player. If you ranked their individual seasons though Derrick is probably at the top (never nominated even with Battle of the Block), just ahead of Dan's first season (got every jury vote).
I think not liking 16 had more to do with Frankie and how boring the rest of the cast was than it was Derrick's domination.

Paul has lost his damn mind.
I find it hilarious that Michelle hates Bridgette because she's jealous because of her random crush on Frank. Lol. Nothing like basing your gameplay on being vindictive that some guy didn't pick you. She's literally talking about evicting Bridgette so she can have Frank to herself. Stalker!

I liked Dr will as well but it's quickly forgotten how his first season had no power of veto competitions in it. Was a totally different game back then. His strategy in all stars was certainly commendable but it only got him 4th place.
Dan dominated two seasons front to back and lost because of a jaded jury who didn't want to award a guy the money for the second time.
I would like to see Derrick play again to really cement his status.

I think Derrick wouldn't make it far in a second go around as he wouldn't be under the radar and would be a big target as everyone knows his game and background. He wasn't a competition beast and chances are he would have to win his share of competitions because he would definitely be going on the block.

Plenty had the same sentiments with Dan going into his second season. People under estimated him in his first season and he rode that until he formed his power alliance midway thru his game. In his second stint, there's no chance he was under the radar and was targeted and pulled off the miracle and best move in BB history to re establish himself.
Derrick won 3 HOH's and threw one to Frankie on purpose so he could get a letter after his grandparent just died. He wasn't a slouch in the competitions that he was trying to win. I think he would do good in a second go but would need to do it like Dan and play a cut throat game from start to finish and not rely on going under the radar.

That was one big eyeroll inducing hour.
OMG Frank is trying to save himself when he's on the block!!!! How dare he!!!
Even that "fight" between Paul and Frank sucked. Paul's tough guy act disappeared as soon as talked to Frank.
James calling a house meeting to decide what to do with the veto, how democratic of him! That was useless and extremely awkward.
All of these women except for Da'Vonne seem so needy and desparate for male attention. This isn't a dating show.
