Ortio thought the goalies aren't all at fault but no one is crucifying him? Why not?

Narratives. There was blood out for Hiller, you can tell by the responses in here about what people wanted Hiller to say that he wasn't getting a fair shake with his interview no matter what.

Last post about Hiller from me........but the end of his exit interview is beyond ridiculous for me. That is not even funny :-) And praise him because of last season? To be honest, I was not a fan of him during that great season too, he was better, but I had the same feeling, was worried about each and every shot because of his style, and many of his soft goals were masked by those comeback wins etc. He was far from excellent even in our PO season.......my last post about him, now I will be looking forward to offseason and next season :-)

It is over. Hiller had a long and solid career with a tough year this year. Let it go

Likely because he was screened on the play or because Hartley did it.

Not really, there's been far more harsher comments. All I did was call him out on his lack of accountability(based on more than one occasion) and said good riddance. I realize he can't feel too good knowing his career could be done but I think he would have said it regardless based on his attitude in the past.

Because he took ownership of his play, and admitted he didn't play great and needed to work on his slow starts to the season, and other issues.
Which was very mature for a younger goalie to say , considering he doesn't know if he'll be back either.
What Hiller did was pathetic every other interview players took responsibility for poor personal and team play.

Thanks Hills but see ya !

Because there were moments this past season where Ortio was capable of stopping a beach ball, something that one of his counter-parts, of Swiss heritage, could not seem to master?

As long as we all know that Hiller sucks, contributed to a lot of goals against/losses this season, and won't be back next season, who cares about the rest?

Truthfully, Calgaryboy's rants about Hiller all season long have been a personal highlight for me all season long

Because he still took some personal responsibility and said that he needed to be better.

Hiller tried to deflect all responsibility.

He deflected nothing, it went past him into the net.

How is anyone defending Hiller? Guy says that he didn't get a chance to succeed? Pffffft that says it all right there.

There are different standards for different players. If Gaudreau shows up late for practice and gets suspended for a game its going to be treated different among the fans than if Josh Jooris or Joe Colborne did it.

If you put up one of the worst statistical seasons of recent history, you should just fall on the sword and take all the blame. You're not going to get the benefit of the doubt where others might.
