He singlehandedly took out the Sharks with a couple shutouts and fantastic play in the first round a bunch of years back with ANA. Sharks had won the Presidents Trophy that year.

I thought so too, but didn't he get shelled by the Sharks at the end of November?

He did.

The difference is his play in Alberta than in Cali where he played thwm for 5 times a year.

It's amazing how a players confidence can be in a certain Arena.

Probably much more comfortable in a more familiar territory.

I was furious at the 5 on 3 + Ramo injury. Hate that the refs would potentially end a game like that. The penalties were legitimate, but why call everything at that point with 2 minutes left? Jesus. It felt like the perfect misfortunate that it would just end there but wow, Jonas.

MOD EDIT: No.

At this point they are not purely sellers like the Leafs.

Trades need to have a plus value for them . The leafs sold the farm for magic beans. Calgary has to make trades that have positive value and not just to shake up the line up.

The Flmes shouldn't juat sell those two because they have value. There is a real chance they can still resign and add something to this team. You don't just get rid of them and hope some crp sticks to the wall.

Thats how the Oilers got in the hole they are in.

Right and right. That said, it seems that Hudler & Russell likely have a significant positive value if not more and will probably get back at least something decent in return if not something very good.

Who would've thought when it was 4-1 that Hiller would be a star in this game? When Ramo got injured and the 2 min 5-on-3 happened, I was 100% sure that was the game

There is a possibility for both to maximize value on return .

Hudler most likely was injured most of the year and has up to recently played poorly untill recently . This dosent bode well for maximum return THIS year.I think they need to hold on to him if return dosen't reflex what a healthy Hudler paired with 13 and 23 in performance.

Russell he had a few good years in Calgary after coming from St.Louis as a cast off with nothing else to lose. I wouldn't mind if they keep him and have the ability to buyout Wideman and either sign a F.A or in house player tht is quick on his feet with the ability to be the physical presence on that pairing. I think moving Russel could make sense if the value is on par and a contingency plan based on in house players makes sense to replace. I just don't get the pendants that are talking heads on t.v are talking about his value being so high. He has also under performed this year.

I totally saw Hiller's lizard tongue in the SO.

The guy has boulders in his pants vs the Sharks, clearly. Hilarious.

Just got back to the hotel after one of the freaking weirdest games I have seen as a Flames fan since 1980. Thanks to the tech company supplier that I am visiting I sat in the front row next to the Sharks penalty box. Did anyone see me wearing my mid 2000's Gio jersey and Flames hat?

I yelled my displeasure at the refs during and post shootout win and they heard me from the front row as they stood in front of the penalty box immediately post game.

What a freaking joke that was? I could hear Gio yelling during the one 5 on 3 call...unbelievable.

Banging on the glass after the win because I was happy and extremely pissed at the absolute mockery of officiating an NHL game.

Still pissed, but also super sleepy and I have an early flight tomorrow.

Suck it NHL. Need to send a lowlight video package to the league after that display... Sheesh.

9 penalties was pretty damn excessive for the 2nd least penalized team in the NHL. I missed half the game so I didn't see everything though.

Here's the whole OT thanks to Galaxy911
https://streamable.com/f27w

The blatant stick hold occurs with 2:43 left. Pavelski locks onto Bennett's stick just feet in front of the ref, preventing Sam from reaching the puck in the corner.

If Bennett is free he probably gets that puck in time for a 2-on-1.

I have never been a huge Hiller fan this year but they way he played coming in cold was Hiller the Hiller who played for Anihiem in his prime.

Calgary has had inconsistent goalt2nding this year buut you can see where Sigalet has started to improve the goalies game. His coaching last year got the tandem to get in just by the seat of there last year at this time.
Frome nhi.com Hiller post game qoute.

Quote:
YesHiller immediately helped kill all two minutes of San Jose's 5-on-3 power play and ended up helping the Flames to a 6-5 shootout victory.

"I guess if you're on the bench you're more a spectator than kind of into the game," Hiller said. "Sure you follow it and you kind of feel the up and down of the team and everything. I was kind of prepared that we'd go to overtime, anyway, but yeah, I was worried because I saw we took two penalties there in a row and then suddenly the next thing that I know I was on the ice.

"It doesn't give you a whole lot of time but it definitely helps to have had a lot of games under my belt and having some experience to come in and just focus on the way I want to play

Thanks for this. Do you have a link to shoot out as well?

It's ridiculous that I can't figure out how to watch the full game highlights on NHL.com. I'm either an idiot or they are.
