Man oh man is Johnny ever good at absorbing the stretch pass. A few minutes after he the took pass from Brodie on the scoring play, there was another one from Backlund where he took it right at the blue line.. I had to rewind it a few times to see how he pulled it off, but it still never made sense to me lol. Would be sweet if there were a gif somewhere..
The team is playing so much better at even strength in the past 4 games but I just can't understand why the PP and PK suck so much. We're sitting at 70.2% PK and 12.0% PP which are both 30th in the league by a large margin
Hartley is a bad coach. If it's not his special teams than he needs to man up and sack whoever is the special teams coach (even if its Gelinas) cause they're obviously not doing their job.
I have to give the Sabres credit, they killed Johnny's time on the puck very effectively, I noticed that every time he got it they were all over him, he could make a couple of moves and then they'd take it off of him.
But it only takes once.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.

The guy did win best coach last year. I doubt he's gone from best to worst as you say in one year. I think it has more to do with the players and especially the goaltending.
Well, we made a game of it in the third period! Ristolainen is the real deal on the back end there. Gaudreau, amazing as usual. Had a lot of fun -- first time I've seen a Sabres hat trick live too!
I was thinking it was your hat, the one on the ice?

Special teams is almost all on the system. If your players can't execute your system then your system doesn't work.

You are still confused about job descriptions. Hartley can't fire anyone. At best he could recommend it to Treliving.

Special teams is all on the work ethic. You can have the best system in the world, but your players need to get and keep the puck, including off the draw. A lost draw costs 15 seconds off the power play on average.

Okay well he should recommend it.

This doesn't strike me as a team that isn't trying on the PK and the PP. Either way, do we trade the whole team or fire the special teams coach? Cause rebuilding or not, we cannot just ignore the fact that we're the worst special teams team in the league.
Watching Johnny take abuse all game with no retribution is starting to get realllly old.
If I'm Burke I'm marching into the room, grabbing Ferland Bollig and Engelland, and telling them the only reason they exist is to protect our most skilled guy who goes a buck fifty. FFS

Sounds great in theory.
After Ferland/Bollig take the instigator, our awesome PK gives up a goal, what do you think they (and other teams) would to Gaudreau then?
IMO the PK has to improve so other teams are afraid to take penalties against them. RIght now it's a joke.
Don't think he meant the video of the little girl is creepy, just the fact that it's Dion that keeps posting it. And yes, it is starting to get kind of creepy/weird. At least for me anyways.

Unfortunately you guys are finding it creepy because of a lack of context for you guys.
Perhaps Dion and calgaryboy would chime in to explain best.

I seriously can't believe that Frolik hit went uncalled. It looks even worse than when it was live. I wonder if the league will look at it? Have they suspended players before when they didn't even get a minor penalty for it?
The one thing that you know with Burke, is that he sticks up for his guys. The league will have heard about this.
