Now I'm trying to remember but specifics aren't coming to me. Was there not a game where Monahan took an awkward fall and went down the tunnel but came back right away? I don't remember the team, or exact incident but the scenario seems familiar.

Treliving says Neck and back issues for Hudler

Monahan had groin and back issues.

Schlemko had a bad groin injury

So Monahan confirmed no injury in the playoffs. Probably just tough to adjust through his first playoffs as a second year player. He'll get better.

I don't think there's anything wrong with disclosing your injuries after your season is over, but there's something about keeping it to yourself that shows a lot of character, not using injuries as an excuse (albeit, a perfectly legitimate excuse).
