Oh jeez, that sucks seeing the good guys go down but man Anaheim was clearly the better team from day 1, lots of positives to take away for the Flames too!!! So stoked for the future of this team, this season is really something that these players should be proud of.

It'll be interesting to see if these officials move into the conference finals. I thought the officiating was pretty weak going both ways, and would hope the nhl does as well.

Monahan's progression.
Gaudreau.
Bouma, Brodie, Russell and Colborne's progression.
Ferland and Bennett.
So much to be excited about.

The Ducks were a much better team, but don't overlook how much missing Giordano did, and yet we were still that much closer than the Jets. Yes the Ducks deserved to win, but both games 4 and 5 were up for grabs, and the series could be 3-2 Flames now had a call here or there had gone our way; or if a few more of our chances were converted.
Then of course there is Gio, easily the most important player missing in the playoffs. I know it's hard to equate a defender to a goalie, but look what happened to Montreal and Tampa Bay last season when they were missing their biggest components on the backend (Price and Bishop). The Ducks are still a better team with Gio playing, but it would've been a closer series imo.

wouldn't the Ducks steam-rolling their way to the cup make the Flames look even better? I never get why people want them to lose now

well we collapsed in the 3rd after sone bad discipline and bad reffing. Backlund line was awful.
But overall an amazing season and hopefully its our first stepping stone to a championship in the near future. All of these players back for a full year next year will be amazing.

23 teams were eliminated from the season before the Flames, making us a top 7 team this season. We eliminated the Vancouver Canucks. We were supposed to finish bottom 5. Makes me sick that Corey Perry was the one who knocked us out but at the end of the day, it was a hell of a season.
I hope that we can bring Ramo back. He played his heart out the entire series

May I add that Ramo was incredible.
Did everything you could ask. He was hell bent on stealing one for us, and showed when he got upset at the goal. That's the kind of attitude and focus we need between the pipes. Cheers, Ramo. You did well.

Shout out to the nhl app for rubbing it in.
Notification immediately after losing that the ducks had eliminated the flames, then 10 minutes later another notification inviting me to watch the ducks eliminate the flames.

First time in 27 years that the Flames have been eliminated in the 2nd round. At least the first round curse is broken

Was I the only one thinking that I wish the Oilers had taken that Comrie for Perry trade tonight? Imagine Perry languishing in Edmonton instead of knocking us out tonight. Thanks to Uncle Kevin for that exceptional blunder!

To add to your great list:
Engelland's ability to play big minutes.
Schlemko being an asset for the 3rd pairing.
Gio coming back next year.
Ferland, Hudler, Monahan, Bouma and others playing healthy next year.
This group buying in on a system.

Well, that was too bad, but what a run.
It's disappointing, but I can't say I am altogether upset about the prospect of finally getting some sleep. This last month has likely reduced my life expectancy by several years.
