#Flames Mark Giordano is participating in morning skate. He's started to handle the puck, making passes, taking wrist shots. Good progress.

would love a real early, real soft goal against miller, to set the table for a meal of just deserts tonight.

When Baertschi was traded, my concern was with sending him to a rival - I didn't want to have to watch a Flame draft pick that I had enjoyed watching in Portland and was looking forward to being a part of the Flames, performing with the hated Nucks.

However, with all of his recent comments, it has become quite clear what a fragile wallflower he is, and I am now GLAD he is a Nuck.

The Vancouver Canucks: All yur headcases belongs to us!

Honest question everyone: What if Sven has a really good game, puts up a few points, and they win? Would anyone be willing to give him credit where it's due?

He should be feeling justifiably slighted now with Ferland (#79) and Bennett (#93) in the Flames lineup with no mandated number correction.

So much ignorance. So much desperation. So much false hope.
That is ridiculous, and I really can't see it being true.

He was given a "roster" number in a move that many thought was showing their confidence in him.

If he truly uses that as the team having a slight against him then he really is clueless.

You know, everyone keeps saying that Giordano is not coming back this season, but is it out of the realm of possibilities? Sounds like it's possible he could be back for the next series, even if it's unlikely for him to be 100% with his arm.

The whole, I'm going to show you rarely works in sports let alone at the highest level of professional sports.

In pro sports everything is about assignment and execution, where you need to go and who you need to pick up.

If Sven isn't focused on that his team mates are going to need to bail him out. If Sven isn't focused on the game itself and is thinking about himself and his feelings, he's going to make mistakes.

Personal vendettas only work in pro wrestling and roller derby. The secret to a pro game is focusing on the job that you need to do and getting it done everytime you're on the ice.

Sven has never been able to do that consistently.

I doubt that any of the Flames are going to go out of their way to punish Sven, instead they need to have the mindset that he's just another victim.
It works for Martin St.Louis. I am actually surprised the guy can even stand under the weight of that massive chip on his shoulder. That being said, Sven gave up on himself. If he had put even an ounce of effort into showing why he deserved to be on the big club rather than spending all his time pouting maybe he'd still be here. As for the jersey numbers, Jooris, Ferland and Bennett have their high numbers because they're rookies. You would think being told you had to take a low number would be a positive thing considering only full time NHLers get those numbers.

Well, that was his number in the WHL, and it's not like anyone else is using it..

Sure. But it would be the completely out of character for him, so it's extremely unlikely.

Yes, I will for sure. I like Sven, I believe he is a good kid. But I don't think he'll be able to put up a few points, not in this game anyway.
