Well that didn't last long! David Clarkson and his hefty contract, obtained from the Toronto Maple Leafs in the run-up to the NHL Trade deadline in exchange for Nathan Horton, has already been knocked out of the Columbus Blue Jackets' line-up.

Clarkson will be sidelined four to six weeks due to a torn oblique muscle suffered in Tuesday night’s game against the Washington Capitals, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced Wednesday.

That player has been a disaster since the day he signed that awful contract. You would think the Jackets are cursed as the idea was to get a warm body for that money and they still don't have a warm body to show for it. I still think the Jackets would have been better off paying nobody over this guy that just seems like his career is heading for the dumpster but it's easy to say when it's not my money.

I think this is the final year the Isles have Yashin on the books. It only took 8 years.

Holy crap, it totally is. Not only are the NYI playing well, but they're about to have $2.204 in found money next year.

^^ Johnny Boychuck is likely getting a raise. RFAs Thomas Hickey, Anders Lee and Matt Donavon are NHL regulars, so it seems like NYI will quickly use up that money this summer.
