Amateur mistakes, like passing back to no one at the blue line, and spoiling the entire shift. Just get the puck to the net.

i'll take getting out of that period down 1-0. Flames need to be much better.

Why? It has worked all year. Dump and chase for 2 periods, make the other team play all 200' every shift. Then take advantage of our conditioning in the third.

I agree and I've been one of the ones complaining. Ha
Guess it's what we get used to being called. I actually prefer it like this, again as long as they are consistent.

LA held the play in the first, but that had to be expected as this is as close to a must win for LA as you can get without being one. Being down 1-0 after 20 minutes given the scenario is pretty good actually. Calgary will take this game away from LA in the 2nd and 3rd period.

This was a positive first period. Flames withstood a steady onslaught of Kings chances while getting some decent pressure in their own right.
Flames best periods lie ahead.

Had to expect the Kings to have big energy in the first. Those big lugs can't keep that up.

Wideman was probably the worst player that whole period. I don't think he had one positive shift.

We should be able to beat this LA defence.
Start skating and expose them with speed.

Not a good period for the Flames, but we're only down 1-0. I like our chances of getting back in this, provided the Flames can get their forecheck going and start dictating the play a bit more.

I think with Toffolli-Carter-Lewis dominating against the Monahan line, Hartley wanted to put a defensive player in that line so he switched Byron and Gaudreau. If that Toffolli line keeps up, I wouldn't be surprise to see Glencross going with Hudler and Monahan. I am sure Gaudreau will be back on that line again tonight especially if the Flames ties up the game.

I'd prefer color more than black and white every single day. The normal jerseys are perfectly bland. They're called the kings, they should have some gold.
