With the exception of a few defensive gaffes and that last second goal, Flames were beastmode all night. Beastmode Flames look like a contender team.

I liked Wolf's play.

His skating could use work when he doesn't have the puck but once he gets a hold of it, he definitely has some hands and can hold posession decently. Add the fact that he's big and can play the pest role and I'm all for it!

He can be this years Ville Niemenen

I don't mind that last second goal. It didn't cost us but the team will be guaranteed to not let that happen again. A wake up call.

Wolf looks like a freight train out there. Not a guy that you'll appear to be getting the puck from in most cases. As he gets used to the NHL I hope he can stick.

wolf has a great first period decent second but he still isn't at nhl pace yet and his third periods look very tired and he slows down. can't wait to see him when he gets used to the nhl pace

I agree about Neimi's rebounds, but the Raymond goal was nice. He shifted quickly to the middle to change the angle and then sniped just inside the post. That goes in on a lots of days on a lot of goalies.

In fact, that's probably the move Johnny should have pulled when everyone was yelling at him to shoot on two on ones. He passed both times because he was looking at a goalie cutting the angle, but if he cuts and drags he opens up the shot a bit. Or he can still pass.

Did it go inside the post? I thought it went under his arm/glove?

Well, it was about 6 inches inside the post, and also went just under the arm.

You know what they say...

Yes they did. Score adjusted. Which matters, because the Flames were ahead the entire time.

That's the caveat though. Just 5v5 they were destroyed.

Which is why, though I do strongly believe corsi has value, it's not the whole story. No one who watched that game could say San Jose was the better team

Which is why no one looks at base corsi's anymore.
