Well.....we aren't beating the Kings in LA....not the way Gaborik-Kopitar-Carter are lighting it up....
The losing streak will be 9 games going into the game against the Oilers........
God help us. This is just karma for us laughing so much at the Oilers.

9,10,11 game losing streaks are not acceptable, rebuild or not.
Goalie coach?

I would've given it the old 'throw my stick at it' play.

Ironically, I think if Gio picked up Tanev, the other D had the 2 on 1 pass covered. Would have given them a better chance at stopping that play.
Ideally one of the forwards could have covered for Gio when he decided to jump into the offensive zone.

Ah I still like what I saw in terms of the Flames coming back to tie the game. I don't have the stats and it was probably already mentioned last night but the Canucks seem to have our number in OT, and the Sedins have a million career points against my beloved Flames. Who knows maybe the Flames can pull off an upset against the Kings. I think it's possible.

Apollo freakin Ono himself couldn't have caught that puck.

Seems to me everyone here is looking at individuals as the problem when it's all too obvious IMO that this is a team wide issue. Sure some guys need to be better (in fact the vast majority of them) but with what is happening away from the puck and their collective inability to play anything resembling a physical brand of hockey, this group of players are all to share in the blame.

Raymond looked effing terrible last night and has for most of the season.
He is on bollig level for me in terms of impact.
That was an ugly game to watch last night.
After Vancouver got the lead, they out defended Calgary and locked the game up.
Holler looked shaky from the start as well.

It was also easier to make up ground in the standings with only 21 teams, no shootouts, and when ties existed.

Interesting quote from hartley last night:
“It would have been easy to fold the tent tonight. We played with urgency. We showed signs of who we can be. Obviously, we have lots of young players and it has been a tough two weeks."
From my point of view it's the vets and NOT the young players who have been committing the most mistakes during this losing skid. Raymond and Stajan have been garbage since returning from injury, Glencross is absolutely useless, and both Gio and Brodie have had a rough stretch as well. But hey, maybe Hartley is right, and this losing skid is happening because we're a young team that's still learning how to win in the NHL.

You know that's an automatic goal if the stick touches the puck right.
Its basically a penalty shot on an empty net.

True, but what a stupid rule. How cool would it be to see a goal stopped by a caber toss? Pretty cool.

Yes, that's what we need. Players flinging their sticks all over the place.
There is a reason it is a rule. Same as "kicking" the puck into the net. It's unsafe.

I'm no Glencross fan, but he is a much better player than Sven, who has not earned a spot on the roster, let alone the top line.

Can we please stop posting garbage like "put him on waivers" or "trade him for a bag of pucks"? Was he bad tonight? Yes, but everyone on this team at one point or another has been terrible during this stretch. Glencross is a steal for how little he makes.
Now Stajan or Raymond? Fair game there.
|
Seriously. Glenny is probably our only veteran forward that's "under performing" that would get us a return and people want to waive him
