Stajan with one goal this year. Real functional. I guess he's on track for his second highest scoring season with the Flames tho.....
Also goons? Who said anything about goons? Lets just get some guys that are bigger than 5'8" and a buck fifty. That would be a good start for a 4th line.

Stajan has the best FO% on the whole team but continue telling us how he isn't good enough for the fourth line

My thoughts on Stajan is that we would trade him and retain salary thus making him valuable to other teams?
Allows us to meet cap floor without having to overpay random plugs like Eggs. I alway saw the contract as good as it allowed other teams to know exactly what they were getting when receiving the traded player.
Perhaps I'm wrong?

Is that the game where logic, common sense, and basic civility enter from one side, and mysteriously disappear into the ether?

Anyone but Stajan please!!!

Last game Stajan was 77% in the dot, got an assist and was one of only two plus players. Who do you want at centre on the 4th line? Knight? Or a winger playing out of position? Playing him, Raymond and Bouma allowed the 4th line to take 11+ minutes, as opposed to when the 4th line would get under 10.
Stajan is 6'1" and 192, so not small compared to anyone on the farm except Ferland (in weight). He's not slow - he can skate better than anyone else who could be inserted.

Stajan isn't hurting the 4th line.
Colborne and Raymond have contributed nothing since their return.
Byron is ineffective.
Glencross is lost in the defensive zone.
Brodie hasn't been on his game for a while.
Engelland is a pylon.
Ramo has been mediocre, while Hiller has been just average.
And our luck is #### right now.

AltaGuy has a magnetic personality and exudes positive energy, which is infectious to those around him. He has an unparalleled ability to communicate with people, whether he is speaking to a room of three or an arena of 30,000.

I think the team looks tired - especially the dmen. Our speedy, small team was always going to struggle over the course of an entire season to play the way they need to to win.
Especially notice it with Brodie, Russell, Gaudreau, and Byron. The decision-making and execution have taken a huge step back.
I wonder whether Treliving/Burke think it is related to size over the grind of the season as well.
We are getting some bad puckluck as well, perhaps deservedly so after our start.

To expand on this so people will hopefully stop with the incessant Stajan bashing 'cuz stajan'
Vs Rangers
Stajan 77% (7/13)
Monahan 37% (7/19)
Granlund 33% (6/10)
Jooris 31% (8/12)
Stajan took and won all 4 faceoffs in the defensive zone on the PK. The others combined for 1/7 in the defensive zone. Granlund and Jooris led the way with 3/4 and 6/7 respectively in the offensive zone.
Vs Hawks
Stajan 50% (3/6)
Monahan 45% (9/20)
Granlund 33% (3/9)
Jooris 31% (4/13)
Vs Penguins
Stajan 63% (5/8)
Monahan 45% (9/20)
Granlund 46% (6/13)
Jooris 44% (4/9)
So for a useless guy who has only been getting ~11 mins of ice time the last 3 games, he's basically done everything that's been asked of him in that role.

Matt Stajan is the least of this team's problems.
