Hawks looked awful, scrambling intheir own end, turning the puck over, no shots or offense at all, all credit to Minny who looks to have figured them out. If Minny can keep the pace up they will advance, Chicago looked slow, old, tired. Leddy and Roszival stunk (Roszival just plain sucks), as did Crawford, everyone else to. I have not ever watched much of the Wild but they looked really good and owned last night. Bollig's peanlty was just stupid, Spurgeon's was reckless, more of a knee then an elbow.

Many 'Hawk fans want to see Bollig suspended, just to see Q's man-crush on the guy stopped for a while...He brings little to playoff hockey...Q's insane line scrambling in St. Paul destroyed chemistry for two games...just stupid of Q...

Brookbank is far from ideal, but he has been better with Leddy than Rozival, all season.

'Hawk roster changes for game 5, based on practice lines...Versteeg dresses and moves to 1st line, Morin out, Regin in, Rozival out, Brookbank in...

Probable starting combos:

Bickell/Toews/Versteeg
Saad/Kruger/Kane
Sharp/Handzus/Hossa
Nordstrom/Regin/Smith

Seakeith
Oduya/Hjammer
Leddy/Brookbank

That was a nice backhand shot by Haula for the goal. The Wild out shot the Blackhawks 8-6 in the first period.

Hawks need to shore up second line center.

Their forward depth is surprisingly weak. Their stars need to make a difference because Minnesota beats them line for line.

1-1 now. Both goals on weird bounces.

I mean weaker than you might assume given that they're an elite team. The bottom half of your list isn't anything special.

For players playing bottom 6 time they have very solid numbers.

They have good forward depth. Surprisingly weak center depth though.

Flames might have better 2nd and 3rd line centers than Kruger and Handzus.

Versteeg 29 points in 63 games, Bickell 15 points in 59 games, Shaw 39 points in 80 games, Kruger 28 points in 81 games. I honestly don't know what kind of ice time they got and whether their production is good or not.

Watching them, I'm not terribly positive or terribly negative. Seems less than other top teams. Kane and Toews carry the team.

I think your two statements are in conflict. Instead of saying that they have good depth but they're weak at center past Toews, wouldn't it be simpler just to admit that their forward depth isn't top notch at the moment?

Bickell's goal was on the power play and his goals these playoffs have been bouncing off him. The other weird thing is Brodin's past four penalties, three of them have led to goals. The Blackhawks out shot the Wild in the second period 15-6.

That was a big shift by Toews that led to the goal. He is a scary person to play against in the playoffs.

I wonder if Minnesota will really sign Vanek. Seems like it could be another vanilla vet like Pominville and Moulson. Good players but they don't push you to the next level.

Valiant effort from Minnesota. Crawford was great.
