Luckily the Finnish commentators are mostly keeping their mouths shot. Some pointless "this looks great here in the stadium", "I have goose bumps" etc. but a lot of it is just translations and a couple of cultural comments ("horses are a symbol of freedom in Russia" etc).

So, we're almost at the part where they put a national hero in the back of a pick-up and drive him through the city for an hour?
TRETIAK!

This is nicer than Wayne Gretzky in the back of a truck in the rain.

No truck for Tretiak, they're going to make him run the whole way.

I got Tretiak's autograph once. He was set up at a little table in the Oakridge Co-op. It was kind of sad.

Say what they will about the media accommodations, the actual venues and this ceremony have been top notch.

It started a little funny with the olympic rings not working and the flag having trouble staying in formation. Other than that, yeah, not bad at all.
There's a good saying about Russia in Finland, which translates basicly to "In Russia nothing works, but everything works out."

I turned on my laptop to figure this out, mostly because I thought I misheard things while reading when they said "cyber-sportsman".
Alan Enileev, apparently, was a great video game player in Need for Speed.
...Yeah, I don't get that selection either.
