Looking forward to seeing Boston take on a western team that I hate in the finals and destroying them.
It would really be something for us to cheer on between season's end and the draft.
I can see Iggy with 35 goals and 70 points to finish. That's a point per game the rest of the way. Doable with the momentum he's riding.

It is possible, but I can also see Boston pacing the four lines down the stretch to minimize injury risks going into the playoffs.

Good for Iggy having success and being on a first place team. I don't think the Flames were ever first in their conference this late into a season when he was around, were they? He must be enjoying it. However as much fun as he is having you know how much he wants that Stanley Cup. It will be fun cheering for Boston in the playoffs.

Well, we were never first in the conference ever I don't think, except for a possible early season blip. In 06 we won the division of course, but we finished third. I think we were second for sometime that season though. That would have been the highest we had a sustained run for with Iggy.

I think the Flames and Iginla really got the shaft from the lockout year.
The lost year probably would have seen Iginla at the very peak of his abilities.
An 04-05 team would have had some momentum, and wouldn't have lost Conroy and Gelinas - maybe even would have had the opportunity to add a good free agent or 2.
Sigh.

Conroy was gone before the lockout, and Sutter had moved Saprykin/Gauthier to secure Langkow.

He wouldn't have been if there had no lockout. He said he only left because the Kings would guarantee they'd pay him.

Really want iginla to face the penguins in the playoffs and absolutely light them up!!! Bylsma should have used iggy more with Crosby and Crosby should have pushed for iggy to be on team canada! On top of that... The whole penguins team should have brought more to that boston series cause iginla stuck his neck out at the trade deadline choosing them above all other teams.
Iggy scoring 7 goals for the bruins as they sweep the penguins would be sweet!

To be fair Iginla was leading them for playoff pp goals (points?) And got shuffled off of the first pp for the Boston series. I thought he was one of their better forwards but he wasn't getting any ice time. Really curious coaching that series

Basically Bylsma rode his two ponies who were pretty much shut out for that whole series. Anyone can coach that team and win. I think he just got lucky the year he came in as the new head coach for the Pens and riled up enough emotions going into the playoffs and they won. It's really too bad the guy doesn't know how to use Iggy since Mike Babcock won with Iggy on his team at the Olympics. Iggy's not washed up, he just needs a half a season to pick up steam. Then, he gets hot on the second half.

Pretty col that Iginla is being a big contributor in Boston. Julien absolutely loves Iginla and uses him in all situations.
Iginla is leading Boston with 7 GWG. Pretty impressive.

In all fairness, Babcock really misused Iginla until the last two minutes of the USA game in the round robin. He was barely seeing any PP time and was buried either on the 4th line or riding the bench.
It was only after that game he played with Crosby and Canada got going.

Let's not speculate on the past and hope Iginla can keep up his momentum and be a difference winner that helps his team get close to the cup.
He is more built for that team than the Penguins anyways.

I was just looking at the current NHL goal scoring leaders. Ovechkin has 46 goals, but is a -30, whereas Iggy has 26 goals and is +30. After Ovechkin, there are some 20 players in a 26 to 36 goal range. Once Iggy surpasses the 30 goal mark in a few games, he'd be in the top 10 in goal scoring. I'm also looking at a guy like Patrick Marlow. This guy does all his scoring in the first quarter or first half of the season and then he disappears after that. Compare that to Iggy, it's quite the opposite. Like the saying goes, "It's Not How You Start but How You Finish".
