Great to see Backlund with an A, at the start of the year when he felt a bit picked on by Hartley now shows what a little accountability and motivation can do to a player. He's been outstanding.

Monahan looks like he's not going to be that player that cuts through a whole teams defense, dekes the goalie out of his shorts and puts in a top corner backhand. But beyond his 200 foot game, he just oozes hockey IQ and knows where to go, this bodes well for the future.

It was great to see a lot of hard work paying off, at least one carolina fan was complimentary on how active our blue line was last night.

Good for Ramo to get the shutout, he's really improved his positioning a lot since the start of the year.

That seems to be Harley's way. Start at the bottom and work your way up. Backlund (and to a lesser extent Colbourne) show that rewards do come eventually.

That's true, he's actually been ok with the reward system for the young players (except Baertschi), but hasn't really punished many of the floater vets..

Well, Stempniak and Stajan have been dumped down to the third line at times, but you're right. It has always been a constant in hockey (and sports) that tenured vets get more leeway than rookies.
