Is it sad that Kanye West has 2 albums in their top 10 and I don't know a single song that he sings?

I like a lot of the other musicians in the top 100, so am I really missing out on something good?

Just listened to it, nothing really blew me away. Might take a few listens to get used to it. I kinda like 'California', and 'Volcano' was pretty good, sounded the most 'old school' out of all of them.

"Raised By Wolves" sounds like it could have been off of Boy/War/October. I still love listening to those three albums. Other than that this album doesn't come close to that kind of raw energy. Album does have some good slow burners though like "Song for Someone" very addictive.

Very happy with the new U2 album. Every breaking wave is an instant U2 classic.

"Sleep like a baby tonight" is back to the darker U2 of the 90s. Good song too.

Aside from the great new songs, I think it was quite an amazing marketing move to partner with Apple to give the album away for free. If only 10% of itunes users listen to the album, that translates to 50 million people. There last album only sold 4.5mil. I think they are going to be selling a lot of their back catalog with new fans.

Apple - BlackBerry - back to Apple. This time they got it right. There will be $350 wrist watches playing their tunes soon. U2 = ipay. No chance this album makes it onto my kids ipods any other way.

Annoying songs of 2014 (to be continued):

Weezer - Back To The Shack - just awful
Tuneyards - Waterfountain - cheerleaders think this song is annoying - woo ha?

Water Fountain is in the running for one of the worst music videos ever. It was just awful; the music was sporadic and shrill, the visuals were disturbing.

I am tainted by some of the reviews I have read but I completely agree that "Songs" sounds a lot like Bono's first solo album.

Missing are Edge's trademark riffs, Larry's signature beat (sounds like the drum tracks are intentionally muted) and Adam's grounding bass that pulls most U2 songs together.

I do really like "Every Breaking Wave". Otherwise an underwhelming performance from my favourite band.

Got the chance to hear the new Alt-J album out next week. Amazing album! Likely my favorite band of the past 3-4 years.

Broncho "Just hip enough to be a women" debut album out today.

Karen O "Crush Songs" written when she was 27 and stashed away up until now.

Fall is heating up! With or without U2

Been listening to Lowell's We Loved Her Dearly on repeat since it was released. Incredible album. I know Troutman had mentioned her a couple times since she is from Calgary. Every Calgarian should have a listen.

Thom Yorke's new album was released today. It's good. Very mellow. If you liked The Eraser, you'll like this

I agree the new album is great. I am really not a fan of the Left Hand Free track and will turn it off if I hear it but overall the album is great.

An Awesome Wave in my opinion is as good as an album could possibly be. Even after a few years since it's release, every time I listen is magic... just so so good.

This new album won't live up to it in my eyes but it how could it? Still a really solid album which as I keep listening just gets better and better.

Lowell was the girl that arranged the impromptu house party during the Sled Island flood. I think it was her aunt's house.
