He is getting better every game. Great trade as we need players in his age group and with his size he has he ability to be an effective bottom 6 forward

I see the reason for taking a chance on him. Which is good enough for now.

He looked really good last night - his confidence, his presence, and his ability to battle for the puck, have all improved steadily with each game.
Being 6'5" and pretty talented - I am willing to give him every opportunity to develop

I'm cautiously optimistic about Colborne... I think he will at minimum become a solid 3rd line C, but he definitely has top 6 upside. I'm looking forward to his progression as every game he has improved

No he's been playing with Stempniak and Cammy for the past 2 games. Cammy and Sven were switched a little ways into yesterday's game.

Exactly. My point is that people were critical of him while he played with the other 2 and had limited ice time. When given good linemates and decent ice time, he produced.
I like him and would LOVE him to remain a Flame long term and be part of the solution.

I know he had a goal and an assist last night but so far I'm not impressed. Looks kinda shaky, hesitant, got tangled along the boards with his own teammate at one point. If he still has that much to work on than why isn't he in the AHL where he could get more minutes?
It almost seems to me, and I noticed this last year too, that the Flames seem to take a long time to evaluate and assess the talent they do have. Roman Horak is another guy, I don't see any improvement. Maybe I'm just missing something here.
On the other hand I like Max Reinhart and was surprised when he got sent down last year. Looked to me like he was fitting in and would have benefitted from staying up here.

He is a 2-3 Centre. All this talk of 4C = WTF?
His ceiling is a 6'5" Conroy. That's awesome if he can pull it off.

I like him. I particularly like him when playing against a big team. I feel mostly confident when he's out there and he should fit in as a big checking centre with upside.

He's here for the long run. He's shown a steady progression since he arrived. Toronto are going to regret letting him go.
Nifty deke move to open his account with the Flames. I hope it's the first of many!

I'd like to see what he could do if he was regularly paired up with someone other than Jackman. Even with his limited ice time if they gave him somebody from the farm to play with that is a little bit more assertive at generating scoring chances I think that fourth line could be very productive.
Bouma is awesome. Joe is looking very good. They just need a good skilled agitator.

It's real nice to see a Flames centerman tower over opponents for the first time in a looooong time.

I acutally think TJ Galiardi could be this player. Hasn't shown it yet this year but I recall he had an agitating side to him when in Colorado.
Galiardi-Colborne-Bouma would be an awesome 4th line IMO.

I still don't understand why people want this guy on the 4th line. We should be developing him into something better then a 4th line checker with his skill. He very well can be a top 6 center with his hockey attributes.
From what I've seen he can already handle a top 9 role. I realize there's a clog up front, but put him on the wing or trade stajan if absolutely necessary. That move will make our top 9 bigger which is a plus, even if we lose a veteran presence.
We can always bring in someone like Knight who could play an effective 4th line game as well as come in for key face off situations as he rocks in that department.

I'm fine with him on the 4th line for now. Stajan will likely be gone by the deadline which will give everyone else a chance to move up a line.

I personally don't understand why the "4th line" needs to have such a stigma.
If he is playing with Bouma and Galiardi is it really that bad?
Eventually Stajan, Cammy, and Stempniak will be gone and ice time will open up for him but for the time being there is no issue with him playing on the 4th line.
