The Arena gods hate me... I just made a deck with 1 4-drop (and it's a "virtual 3-drop", Dread Corsair). Lots of 2s, lots of 5s, not much else.

at card 15 or so you need to start taking mana curve into consideration at 20+ you pretty much have to keep mana curve in mind and you might have to pick lesser cards to have a balanced deck, can't have a deck that's not balanced

Even trying to take curve into consideration, there was not much I could do. I passed on Dread Corsair, but that's 3-drop quality anyways. Deck went 3-3. Missing the 4-drop isn't all that bad when you can just play two 2s instead. What hurt more was the lack of late game - also lack of AOEs, but that's always a problem with Warrior.

Personally, I think people tend to overrate the importance of mana curve. Tempo is important, but often a lower mana card has greater utility than a higher mana one anyways.

I've been enjoying the priest the most, but both times i tried arena i went 1-3. Got absolutely owned by 'faceless manipulators' almost every loss. I want that card!

3 out of the 7 matches in my latest arena run were won by Cult Master. The Cult Master giveth and the Cult Master taketh away. Also, the worst thing in this game is going 4-3 in arena and getting all dust.

Find it pretty fun so far, but earning gold is painfully slow. Which kind of takes some fun out of it because makes earning cards + getting into the arena feels so rare.

^ I agree. The game itself is pretty fun, but earning gold is painfully slow. Assuming you earn a quest reward, you need about 20 wins for 100 gold ( 2 wins for 40g quest + 18 wins for 60g), which is a lot of time. I understand the whole point is to encourage you to buy packs with real money, but when a new pack results in maybe one card I actually want (if I am so lucky) I'm not really keen on paying real money for what may amount to a few useful cards. A friend of mine had this result after dropping $50 for boosters, which is absurd.

Or assume you do two quests... and then you're looking at 6 wins for 100 gold. Basically, you get a pack every two days or an arena every three, unless you want to put in a lot more time, spend money, or do well in arena.

I have the most fun with arena...

I also suck the most at arena... seems I'm always lacking a card or two to push my deck into the win column.

So, after grinding my way back into the arena, I went 2-3. I was absolutely decimated in every lose, losing in 6 turns or less each time (one 5 turn loss to a warlock). It irks me that after so much work farming to get into the arena, it ends in an instant purely due to lucky draws. Super lame.

Maybe it's just luck, but a lot of my opponents are conceeding fast right now... might be a good time to be grinding gold.

Yeah I find that the Arena is a lot easier if you're playing during peak hours like 5-9pm. When I play later in the night, I feel I do way worse.

Also there's a new patch coming out today. Looks like there's a lot of UI changes along with some new features like being able to go up to 12 wins in Arena, Arena reward restructuring (hopefully better rewards for 7 and less wins), and being able to abandon 1 quest per day for a random new one.

It all sounds good to me! Can't wait to get home and play.

It also says "arena rewards have been restructured"... I'm very curious to know what that means, other than extending it to 12 wins.

Don't like the total nerf to UTH... I've seen this before in another CCG (MTG:Tactics)... people whine about one-turn kill combos and then once they get nerfed stall-control decks take over. Expect more cone-of-cold, cone-of-cold, frost nova, frost nova, blizzard, blizzard, flamestrike, flamestrike, mages now.

Hrm... I tried this again, but it gave me "Only the Mighty" (40g) as a replacement quest. Now I have to play without 5-mana plus minions or I can't grind gold without completing it. I've been foiled!
