Well, all fine then. Just making a point.
Don't judge people based on stereotypes in Canada. If you do, nobody will like you. It is a great thing about Canada that you (a Chinese person) can arrive and immediately be accepted and walk around without having to face people making bigoted assumptions about you. You know that's not true of China. Leave it behind when you move to Calgary.

I'm sure you will do fine. Judging by this thread, you seem to have a good sense of humour and a laid back attitude. Those are the 2 prime components of being a Canadian.
I will tell you this though. Canadians (and Americans for the most part), really value privacy and personal space more than "old world" people (i.e. Asians and Europeans). Canadians are also typically very nice, but somewhat shy or closed in nature. A lot of foreigners, while treated nice, have a difficult time making friends quickly.
Anyway, good luck to you. Canadians of Chinese origin are significant minorty in Canada, both in numbers and cultural contributions (approximately 1/20 of Canadians are Chinese, and this number is higher in larger cities). You should have a large ex-pat community to draw upon.

I do think most people aren't buying this as legit, but the IP address being confirmed makes for an interesting curveball. Certainly speaks to some dedicated trolling if nothing else.

I don't have the skills, but couldn't a computer savy fella make his IP address look like it was anywhere in the world?

Yes, but that is pretty dedicated trolling.

It's probably just some guy from Canada who's over in China either on vacation or going to school and decided it'd be fun to troll the forum.
