Interesting that Sharon kept too her word and got the launch keys even after she heard about her baby.
Cowperson sounds like he was right, Apollo is about to go against orders and the Galactica is going to get into big trouble.
This is bar none the best show on T.V., with Jericho closing the gap, and Lost becoming stupid.

Jericho Captain? Man I gave that show 3 eppies and I couldn't take the cheese any longer. Great premise - horrible execution of it.

I have to agree with Jiri. I've been watching Jerhico and it's holding my attention but there's some really poor writting or at least plotting.
The kid who happens to find his corner store food boxes in the first rail car, unlocked of course.
The airplane flight recorder that happens to work with reel to reel tape.
The main guy that's a demolition, flight recorder, firearms and radiation expert.
Plus the fallout levels from an attack that wiped out america seems very low.
Still, for now it's holding my attention until I see what did the damage.
It's no BSG!

When he is working directly with the show, it is fine. But then he got distracted from Alias (by Lost) and Lost was good and Alias sank like a stone. Now the same pattern is happening with Lost.
If I was acting on BSG I would want to play a Cylon. Your character can never be killed off!

OT: Lost was stupid from episode 1 minute 10.
I found this third episode a little hokey. How are their roads for transport vehicles to drive on in this new episode? The whole New Caprica world takes a big grain of salt to swallow. You would think from an amazingly technically advanced robot civilization they would have a better monitoring and control system. The pieces don't fall together in a plausible way for me. They can't get back on the Galactica sooner.

I think Kate Vernon is fervently hoping her Ellen Tigh character is a Cylon right about now . . . . the producers have been fairly up front in telling us a major character gets iced from the show fairly early into the season.
Right now, it looks like she's going to be elected.

The almost-execution scene was filmed at a real life gravel pit which, we would have to agree, wouldn't necessarily be out of line as one of the first things a new society might generate for a new community as it builds roads.
But, I agree, anytime they're on a planet and Hummers and standard military trucks show up, its starting to be a stretch . . . .
Ron Moore talked about stuff like that in various podcasts . . . . in "Downloaded," they had some French cars in the parking garage to give it a more exotic, foreign look. But in the episode where Starbuck piles into the Hummer they freely admit they just said "Frack it" instead of designing something unrecognizable.
I'm kind of interested in what happened to the human cops captured at the gravel pit . . . . we have a brief scene where a few of them are spread-eagled against a truck and under guard . . . . . were they shot out of hand, let go, joined the good guys? What happened to them?
Letting Cylons suffer instead of killing them outright seems to be the new "in" thing to do.
Nice to see some mysticism returning to the show. Lucy Lawless will chase Galactica across the universe to get that baby now. And Sharon is moving back to being untrustworthy now that she suspects the kid is alive.
The future motivation of Starbuck is becoming clear, the safety of Kasey.
I'll bet we're near the point where we lose Pegasus, perhaps rescuing Galactica.
Some overly sensitive people are getting on the Iraq connection:

I especially liked when the Quantum Leap Cylon, the same one who wanted to execute random humans complains about humans being heartless when the chick said I want you to suffer until you are re downloaded.
I love that shat.
As much as I hate to say it, I see Tye being killed off first. He is my favorite character .

I think it would be more interesting to see Kate Vernon's character live and have to fight the scrutiny. Like any of them haven't done heinous acts!
Plus nice to have someone on the show get down and dirty, not just the cylons!

I agree that Tigh is the likely one to go. With Apollo and Adama as the two commanding officers, Tigh will have quite a diminished role.

So how long until Sharon finds out about the baby? I see it happening when they're evacuating everyone and she finds out that Roslin order special protection of that one mom and her baby. Then all hell breaks loose.

You know, it just occurred to me that the human "oracle" sought out by Lucy Lawless in the last episode is none other than Amanda Plummer, whom some might remember as the crazed airhead robbing the restaurant in Pulp Fiction.
On another note, all you want to know - and probably a lot more than you want to know - about Season 3 is in this lengthy Chicago Tribune interview with Ron Moore from a week or so ago. I read some and then avoided other parts as he lets you know what's coming.
Read the whole thing at your peril.

If you are not watching this show STOP READING THIS THREAD.
Go get the first 2 seasons, then come back. There's a spoiler tag for a reason. There are a lot of cool twists.

Pretty good episode tonight. Brilliant acting by Hogan (Colnel Tigh) in this episode, especially the end scene with Adama.
I wonder if the plot will refocus on finding Earth now or if something else will come up? Perhaps something to do with the baby being in the hands of the Cylons?
Here's something else of interest... which BSG character are you?

You scored as Capt. Lee Adama (Apollo).
You have spent your life trying to life up to and impress your Dad, shame he never seemed to notice. You are a stickler for the rules. But in matters of loyalty and honour you know when they have to be broken.

You scored as CPO Galen Tyrol. You never wanted to be a glamorous Viper pilot. You are happy knowing that without you to fix their birds, they cannot fly. You fell in love with the wrong girl, but is that so wrong? Maybe, but you don't really care. CPO Galen Tyrol

And the Captain was totally right about how Tigh would react to his wife's betrayal. The only thing that I got wrong was that he didn't shoot her or beat her to death.
And Baltar is now fully on the cylon side, you know with all of the abandonment issues that he's going to have.

Neat...in a uber-geeky kinda way.
You scored as Commander William Adama.
You have risen to your position by being damn good at what you do. Not only that, you have the deepest respect for the people under your command. You may be a little grumpy and unapproachable, but every commander needs to distance himself. Shame that you apply that to your children too.

When the ship is coming in for a landing on the planet and the vipers are being shot out the side. That pilot says "this ought to be different" right before he's shot out.
