It's not just religion. Both neo-conservatism and neo-liberalism (neo-liberalism is against religion) have converged in efforts to try and control people.

It's basically just an attempt to shoehorn our natural authoritarian impulses and need for sociality into ideologies. The ideology is more a vehicle for the impulse than anything. That being said, in this case, I might have to side with the allegedly repressed authoritarians, because I'm not sure a 15 year old is capable of... you know what, I'm just going to back out of this conversation completely.

How old are the kids in the Junior Dinos? Are these freshman university kids, kids in grade 12, or junior high? They didn't say on the news.

On the dinos site it lists the teams as 15u, 16u, 17u and 18u. I'm assuming that's like soccer and means 15 and under, 16 and under etc.
So no real way to tell. Could be 14, could be 17 and 364 days.

No 20yr prison sentence for him, no public shame. But hey, thats Iceland, we are not this sex fearing people, we actually treat our teenagers like they might be ready to have sex, SHOCKING, I know, because we all had sex at 18 am I right Fellas!

That is actually disgusting.

At the end of the day it does not matter, a minor is a minor.

I disagree. If two people in university hook up, and it turns out one was just shy of turning 18- to me that is a very different thing than the minor being just 14.

Surprised to see that statutory rape isn't a big deal in Iceland. That's all.
