I wasn't trying to insult. I think you are mentally tough. Sorry if it came across that way.
On the basis of your posts over the years I find that you do not put other feelings into view. A sort of "Suck it up" personality. I guess I didn't write that well enough... Sorry about that too.
No insult taken just thought it was an odd way to respond based on what you were talking about.
I don't think I don't take others feelings into view but (for the most part) we are adults here and most of what happens is fairly tame in terms of real world actions.
I have young kids entering Elementary school and think bullying is reprehensible and a worry any parent has. Just don't see it happening here or other times it has been alleged on this site.
Well back to the topic from To Be Quite Honest. So I was thinking again and I have come to this.
First tier: Water borne illness and toxins, such things as mercury, arsenic, Giardia, and Cholera. We deal with these via sanitation, and our sanitation in most of Canada is near 100%, we don't really need to vaccinate because our system is so good. Also this first tier is the most heavily contacted as we all know the general rule that three days without water equals death.
Second tier: Airborne and contact based pathogens, such as the flu or herpes. Sanitation is not nearly as good at controlling these as it is tier one as Flu season proved this winter. So when possible we vaccinate, and in the case of the OP this is the tier that preschoolers are dealing with.
So in the middle of no where Amazon rain forest tier one would need to be dealt with first as this would be the most heavily contacted tier and as To Be Quite Honest pointed out it will result in the constant bombardment of the immune system. Once tier one is resolved tier two is obliviously the next, but now tier two treatments are more effective.
I also want to state that I am very proud that Canadians really only have to worry about tier two illnesses because of what we have built as a people.
A father is urging parents to ensure their children have the MMR vaccine after all three of his children were hit by the Swansea measles epidemic. Craig Thomas, 36, from Morriston, said he wished his two sons and daughter had been vaccinated, and he felt "unbelievable" guilt.
The guilt is unbelievable. We wish we could turn the clocks back and have their injection," he said. "We never thought they would catch it."
I'm speculating that it is not solely the fear of the vaccine from the miscommunicated risks that leads parents to not vaccinate but it is that coupled with the above.
The risk perception is that it's not really a serious threat, it won't happen to us and throw in a bit of dodgy information and you get a poor risk management decision.

Thanks tough guy! Imagine a conversation in person where a group of people are consistently calling you names and/or poking fun at you. It's the same thing only you can't see the individual.
I'm happy you are secure enough to brush such things off, but not everybody is you. Also, Moon, you are completely looking at this topic from your point of view. Place that point of view aside and imagine yourself as someone in a bullied position. You don't know what happened to that person that day/week/month/year. I'm not even saying the op needed the help but I'll still jump in to make sure people know better because life is better with good conversation.
You're also known for insensitivity and lack of giving a crap towards others so I take your post with a grain of salt.
Minnie is carved from that same piece of wood.
Moon made an awesome post, and you attack him. Who's the bully here?
What is really your agenda here? Methinks it's anti-vax thinly veiled as an anti-bully stance.

Quit whining. The only real interaction I've had with you, was on the thread regarding that freak from down south that faked his disappearance. A thread, incidentally, in which you were proven quite wrong, very recently, and it's obvious you are still smarting from that. I've had you on ignore since then, because of that. I'll continue to keep you on ignore because it's clear you can't handle very much in the way of disagreement and one doesn't want to cause you further unnecessary angst, since it clearly causes you to harbor such long grudges and weep bitter tears.
No one bullied the OP. No one. Disagreement is not bullying. It's merely disagreement. I might also add, that my only response to the OP was the use of slight sarcasm. Not once did I call him an idiot, or stupid, or whatever else you're bleating on about, so I'm not sure where your ridiculous fingerpoint to me even comes into play, aside from the fact that I told Moon he made a good reply, and you clearly can't handle that either. What you're doing is similar to the religious types who think they're persecuted because people disagree with their religion and its tenets. If the OP, or you, can't handle a little sarcasm, or strong disagreement, it's time to take your tighty-whities out of the sandbox. And I'm not sure the OP even needed you to cape-wear for him. He seems to have handled the entire thing way better than you have, which is odd, all things considered. So go on with your bad self. I'm fairly sure there's a cross out there just waiting for you to crawl up it. I believe Rona has a sale on nails this week, if that helps.

Minnie, you missed the entire point of that previous discussion. A person was thrown out to the wolves before the evidence even came to light. Now that the evidence presented itself one can make a complete and accurate presentment.
I don't hold a grudge to anyone but I can predict the type of post or comment a frequent poster will make. Yours tend to be similar and in the context of "Just let me call the whaaaaaambulance for you." A comment like that completely destroys any attempt at discussion, because the individual you're trying to talk with will automatically shut out your post.
My example to Moon, with the little jabs, was an example of what some people do on this board. It wasn't a good representation, and I don't like to do it so instead of continuing with the point I was trying to make I dropped it and apologized. If you were offended, I too apologize to you.
One can completely disagree with another. It's something that makes western society so great. Using words like "you're stupid, moron, or idiot" are words that degrade the conversation and cause people to attack back further degrading the discussion. If you are attacking someone you are bullying them.

If you don't vaccinate your children, you are stupid, you are a moron, and you are an idiot.
Categorical statements rarely have places in online discussion forums. I disagree with people who say "you're religious therefore you're an idiot", for example. Because it doesn't follow.
However, if someone (for example) brought a gun in their backpack to school, that person would be (rightly) vilified. If someone called that person an idiot, it would not be "bullying".
Sometimes people do really stupid things and need to be called really stupid. This is one of those cases.

Well, I happy to say I disagree with you. Actually, I'm proud to say it. Name calling is a cheap road to take and all you are doing is trying to justify it.
What would have been a better option for each person that was mortaring the op would have been just to simply "thank" the post that best informs him and move on instead of multiple pages of jokes/names/and insults.
With that said. I think this subject has expired. At least for me.

Back to the anti-vax forums you go.

There was no bullying in this thread, end of story.

Why can't it be a personal decision? Name calling? Seriously? And who thanks name calling? Terrible.
