This tread has me thinking.
If ownership see's what we see, then they HAVE to get rid of Feaster.
Look what he's done, first he brings in Modin, epic fail. Then there was the losing of that second pick that he said we could get back, but we didn't.
Then going after Richards which would of handcuffed us to that stupid contract.
then this fiasco with ROR,and still he's not fired?
I'm of the camp to let B.Burke come in and run this team,he is not the type to be a "yes man".
I'm pretty sure there are a ton that I'm missing but I DONT WANT THIS GUY RUNNING OUR TEAM.

^ But who do they bring in for the interim, just days before the trade deadline?
Missed the Burke part. MB. But as some have said, the entire reason Feaster has a job is because hes a YES man.

Feaster should stay well away from the media until the trade deadline. What can he say?
He is not going to say to fans tomorrow that the season is over and they are sellers. To many home games in the next couple of weeks. Still need fans in the seats.
I don't think he can come out and sell false hope and say they are still in it.
Not to mention the media will probably start to specualte that his job is in danger and those are not questions he probably wants to answer.

Just a thought, if the Flames were to fire Feaster, what do you guys think about Weisbrod taking over for GM?

Until King is gone and there is a new direction and plan from someone that understands the intricacies of hockey, I think it would be the same ol' same ol'.

I would support it but only if an actual interview process were conducted where numerous candidates were looked at and Weisbrod ended up being the best one. Otherwise, I think it would be a mistake. This employment by convenience needs to stop.

Why does everyone forget about the Ryan Smyth pursuit? That to me is the most damning one

He was willing to sit out this year rather than sign for a reasonable contract with Colorado.....
What would make playing in Calgary make him want to sign a long term extension without working in the 7M they would have to give to just to keep his rights. 6 years for 6M plus a 10M signing bonus?
His agent says that the Flame offered 6.5 and a 1st and a 3rd what would the kid demand as a UFA????? where there is no compensation involved?

I wouldn't be shocked if the flames do something similar to the jackets. Let Feaster/King do the dirty work of trading Iggy and Kipper then leading into the draft Burke is hired as the president and GM. I am not certain that is the right thing to do but bringing in Burke now is too close to the deadline. He or another GM should have taken over after the RoR fiasco

I almost feel bad picturing Feaster after I think it was George Johnson who said in an article this week that Feaster was avoiding eye contact with journalists and trying to scurry past them in the saddledome hallways.

I think the organization needs to say something. There's been too much silence, and this is as dire a situation as I can ever recall seeing them in. They don't need to show their cards or anything, but even a simple acknowledgement that the team isn't good and they are hard at work on solutions would be something. There's so much uncertainty right now, I'm actually surprised the pitchforks aren't out even more than they have been.

I agree. As a fan base, we are pretty damn loyal. To a fault, and not almost, we are loyal to a fault. We have supported this team in hopes it can make the cut for the last few years when instead we should have had the pitchforks out a long time ago.
The D.Sutter Era taking over as GM and leaving the bench was the first mistake KK made. Then allowing too much slack in the leash and giving D.Sutter the green light on major moves such as Phaneuf.
KK also Alienated Flames fans with allowing Flames Central to be turned into a Nucks haven for the playoff run a few years back all for a quick cash grab.
Now, well now being the last 3 years... this club being the brunt of many hockey jokes around the league.
But is the issue really KK or is it the fact that we dont have a single owner rather a board and shareholders? Do they really care how successful the on ice product is compared to an individual owner who loves sport/competitiveness/Hockey??
The whole dynamic of this organization really sucks rights.
We deserve some answers!

I think it looks bad with all the talk that he has done in the past that he now decides to be silent. If he had been a regular GM and not sought the media to spout off his one liners and bogus buzzwords it probably wouldn't look so bad.
As for media members Francis said he tried to talk to Jay to get his comments but he declined to talk to the media.

He hasn't shown anything to indicate that he would be a decent GM and seems like he is at least part of the problem with management right now.
I guess maybe as an stop gap until the end of the season but as a long term option there is nothing to make me think that he would be a good choice for the role.

I would be very happy for the Flames to pour all their energy into making this a successful trade deadline. and if ignorning me and the media helps them do that I'm fine. If they do, I don't need them to give me a whisper of information between now and then. Keep their cards close to their chest and make some shrewd moves. The fan base will be thrilled at the end of it.
But if they say nothing, then do nothing? I can't see anyone being forgiving.

Makes me wonder a little bit if the cone of silence doesn't have to do with Burke being transferred in right now and because it's so close to the deadline everything is hush hush until he is ready.

If Burke comes before deadline Iggy stays - do not want that. Burke didn't ask Sundin to waive, doubt he would ask Iggy.

True doesn't he have a strong opinion to not ask players to waive Ntc if they have them?
