I know nothing of the comics behind all of these movies, but I do know that I quite enjoyed X-Men 1 & 2 and very much enjoyed First Class. Trailer looks really good and I am looking forward to seeing this one too.

Trailer looks okay but a lot of it looks pretty cartoony and overly clean. Which atmosphere is similar to the earlier X-Men offerings, for sure, but we've kind of moved past that a bit particularly on something with the scope of this film.

Oh boy oh boy that looks great. That scene of Fassbender Magneto pulling Mystique towards him was awe-some.

My personal opinion of Singer as a superhero film director is very low. The original X-Men was somewhat groundbreaking at the time but it's largely overrated. Superman Returns was one of the worst superhero films ever made. These all showcase Singer's worst tendancies in terms of casting, direction, and plotting.

In this case, Singer is working with an established story which may keep things in check.

I do like McAvoy and Fassbender as the younger Xavier and Magneto but it's very striking that McAvoy doesn't sound anything at all like a young Patrick Stewart.

There's something about that 28 Days Later / Kick-Ass movie track that makes a story epic (the song used in the trailer). Love that bit of music.

That trailer made me feel very excited, and other emotions. Crazy how a movie can bring that up inside of us, but I guess that is why we love them.

Wolverine looks pure beast mode, wow. Good job Hugh. Thor, Captain America and now X Men... good year for comic book movies.

And X-2? Best X-Men movie to date with First Class being a close second. His fingerprints have been all over the good X-Men movies and absent from the bad ones.

Singer also did the Usual Suspects, so he has a decent enough track record, but yeah his most recent history is not all that great.

The Usual Suspects (1995)>>>>X2 (2003)>>>>>>>>>>>>>X-Men (2000)>>>Valkyrie (2008)>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Superman Returns (2006)>>>>>>>Jack and the Giant Slayer (2013).

So yeah he really hasn't directed anything all that great in a decade now. He also did Apt Pupil, but I don't really remember a whole lot from that movie to be honest.

The problem in saying he hasn't directed anything in the past decade is not acknowledging he's only done four movies in those ten years. It's just a short sighted comment. If x2 counts (2003) then of course he has, and I actually loved Valkyrie, haven't seen Jack the Giant Slayer.

Anyways, back to Days of Futures Past

He also directed Apt Pupil and wrote X-Men: First Class. He knows the characters and has given us some of the best movies with them. I have faith this will be great as well.

I really liked First Class, but there was a whole lot of cheese in that movie any time the juniors were on screen. the serious characters were awesome though

IGN posted the analysis of the trailer. Helpful for people like me who don't know about the comics too much.

Yeah First Class could have been the best comic book movie ever had they stuck to the Magneto/Xavier storyline. A shame really, because I bet at one point that's what they had planned to do. Obviously they realized their mistake with only two of the juniors coming back this time around.

I'd be shocked if they didn't continue on with another solo First Class movie after Days of Futures Past.
