I love the tournament but often the quality of the basketball is very poor. Miami and Marquette being a perfect example. Turnovers and 33% shooting is tough to watch, but the end game drama usually makes up for it.

Wichita State is destroying LaSalle. The Explorers have no answers defensively.

Syracuse-Indiana has been a rough game, officials are letting a lot of contact go.

Disgusting. Surprised someone didn't nail him in the head with say a basketball.

Quote:
NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. -- In several dozen hours of video of Rutgers mens basketball practices obtained by Outside the Lines, coach Mike Rice is seen hurling basketballs from close range at his players' heads, legs and feet; shoving and grabbing his players; feigning punching them; kicking them; and screaming obscenities and homophobic slurs.

The video shows practices from 2010-12. About 30 minutes of the video was viewed in December by athletic director Tim Pernetti, who suspended Rice for three games that month and fined him $50,000. But the incidents in the videos obtained by "Outside the Lines" appear to go beyond Pernetti's description at the time, when he cited "inappropriate behavior and language" between Rice and his players. When he announced the suspension on Dec. 13, Pernetti offered few specifics after conducting a week-long investigation.

In addition to Rice's physical actions seen in the practices, Rice calls Rutgers players "fa--ots," "mother----ers," "pu--ies," "sissy b-tches," and "c----," among other epithets.

Eric Murdock, an ex-NBA player and a former director of player development for the Scarlet Knights, told "Outside the Lines" that Rice's "outrageous" behavior had caused at least three players to transfer from the team, including forward Gilvydas Biruta, who transferred to Rhode Island prior to last season.

What exactly do they gain from keeping him? Another 5-13 season? How are they going to recruit kids as long as he's there? How he only got a 3 game suspension is beyond me.

Andy Enfield got hired at USC. I'm hoping that it works out, but I'm not sure it will. I'm typically not too crazy about hiring guys for winning a game or 2 in March. It's working okay for Illinois this year so who knows.

It's the standard winning the press conference hire. Guy could be good but as you mentioned a couple wins in March doesn't make for a great coach.

Surprised not to see this posted and its really not that shocking Ed Rush was a fraud when he was a NBA referee and now this:

Quote:
Pac-12 coordinator of basketball officials and former NBA referee Ed Rush has been investigated by the Pac-12 for comments made about Arizona coach Sean Miller in meetings that included several Pac-12 referees.

Rush, according to a source within the Pac-12 officiating group, told a group of referees on the Thursday of the Pac-12 tournament in Las Vegas that he would give them $5,000 or a trip to Cancun if they either "rang him up" or "ran him," meaning hit Miller with a technical or toss him out of the game. Rush then reiterated during a Friday morning meeting, according to one referee in attendance, that officials should take similar action against Miller if he did anything on Friday in the Pac-12 semifinals against UCLA.

Davidson close to joining the A-10. Realignment is a goof.

Wow quite surprising to come back. This is a pretty mediocre draft class and next years is looking completely stacked. Would have been top 5 this year probably, maybe outside chance at #1.

Yeah, very surprising. Assuming he's planning to come out next year and that he continues to grow next season, he'll still probably top 10, and the top PG in the draft... Andrew Harrison might be the only guy coming out of high school who might challenge him.
