Here we have the strange and elusive random double post, seen here in its natural environment.
Enjoy.

Had Sleep Country done nothing, and just took the live and let live mentality, this would have never been news, and therefore there would be zero negative opinion against them in relation to it.
Even though the majority seems to side with them, there are now 25% of people here, that have a negative opinion of Sleep Country based on this incident. So even though they are winning, they are still losers in the end.... just like every one of us debating this whole stupid debacle.
I am in the market for a new bed, and I know I crossed them off the list. So say I buy a $2000 set.... knowing the markups in bedding is around 100%, that means they do not have the opportunity to make $1000 off of me as I will not visit their stores now. I would think just letting this guy wear his pink hair for a week, cost them much less than that, if anything at all.
It did however remind me that I have to buy one, and picked one to look at tonight on the Sears website. So Sears should thank pink hair dude as I usually buy from the first store I visit which would have probably been Sleep Country.
|
Actually I'm the opposite, after doing some reading on Sleep Country and what they do charity wise I would feel better about spending my money with a company that actually does a lot of really solid charity work, then some guy who's idea of effort is dying his hair pink and then storming off like a princess when he knowingly breaks a company policy.
If anything he's not really a guy who should be poster boarding for cancer awareness, especially when his effort ends at a really bad 5 minute dye job.

I give to the Alberta Cancer foundation which collects donations for the Tom Baker Center.
I don't give to the Canadian Cancer Society after I looked at the math that the first 25,000 donations of $10.00 or below basaically went directly into the CEO's pocket. Then to the rest of the executives and salaries, then to paying for fundraising, then what's left to cancer.
I think in 2009 the CCS raised over $200 million and $49 million went to research.

Why do you care where people shop? If you mind your own business then you won't be minding others

I've done it on a yearly basis since my late father passed away from Colon Cancer in 2000, my uncle in 2008 from Lung Cancer, a cousin in 2009 from Pancreatic Cancer and finally a lady friend of mine from Breast Cancer in 2010. The Tom Baker does great work for Cancer patients.

I had two family members strickened with cancer in the last 2 years, unfortunately both lost the battle, but the Tom Baker cancer center does an amazing job, and their staff is amazing.
I can't imagine working in a field where your constantly fighting a losing battle for peoples lives.

I guess the reward comes when you can make them more comfortable and provide them with the support they need regardless of how it ends up.

Yeah, was talking to my sister who practiced medicine and went through an oncology rotation and asked her about that, and she said that you felt like two people half the time. You had to be positive and comforting and sometimes push patients to fight when they really don't want to anymore. You have to be their friends and the patients look a them as saviors and a life line.
The second person is the one who get thier heart ripped out daily but can't show it.

But you're not upset right? There's no need to troll me when I'm not talking to you.
And that last statement couldn't be a bigger instance of the pot calling the kettle black.
You constantly find things to get yourself upset about in these forums and end up lecturing a large group of posters with a bleeding heart and faulty logic.

My best friends wife is a nurse at the Tom Baker. She says you have to distance yourself from what goes on there daily and not take it personal. Watching people die is not an easy to deal with.
