4. Cleveland nabs Brandon Weeden with the 22nd overall selection. Over the past month, Brandon Weeden and his representation have done a great job of trying to turn his age (28, thanks to five years as a minor league baseball player) from a negative into a positive. He's experienced! He has a good head on his shoulders! He's ready to contribute now! Well, all those things better be true, because Weeden is on a totally different timeline from every other rookie. The problem with drafting a guy at 28 is that no college quarterback is truly ready for the NFL. Even the best quarterbacks in football go through a development process while adjusting to the speed of the game and the range of professional defenders. Weeden, who only started for two years at Oklahoma State, will be going through that development at ages 28 and 29. Guys who have followed a similar path — think Chris Weinke, Drew Henson, and Chad Hutchinson — have failed to ever develop into viable professional starters. Nobody wants to try to develop a 28-year-old quarterback, because by the time he's done developing, he'll already be 30 and declining athletically. And if Weeden struggles, well, the Browns don't have the time to sit around and play a 29-year-old who isn't up to the task. If Weeden succeeds as a pro quarterback, it will be a remarkable exception to what's been a pretty sound rule: Don't draft overage college players.

What a cruel prank to someone did to Mohamed Sanu last night.

10. I think I'll get to a lot more of this in Monday's MMQB column, but I'd like to throw some empathy Mohamed Sanu's way. The Rutgers wide receiver was on the edge of his seat late in the first round, with the Bengals on the clock at No. 27, when his phone rang. The voice on the other end of the phone identified himself as being from the Bengals, and said Cincinnati was about to pick him. Sanu and those in his draft party exploded in excitement, and agent Mike McCartney even tweeted that Sanu was a Bengal. Then Cincinnati picked Zeitler.

I couldn't be happier that the Vikings stole three picks from the Browns, drafted Kalil and then moved back into the first round, on the cheap (2nd and 4th), to grab Smith. Now they should turn their focus to a WR in the 3rd (or try to move up into the 2nd) and then focus on CB & DT/LB in the fourth.

That is an awful prank to play. On the bright side though, he seems to have handled it really well, and he will now get to experience that once-in-a-lifetime feeling of being drafted for a second time!

On Apr 26, 2012 at 8:38 PM EDT, the Dallas Cowboys selected cornerback Morris Claiborne with the 6th pick of the 2012 NFL draft. Before we start preparing for more draft action tonight, here's your chance to relive that moment through the comments of other SB Nation bloggers as they react to the pick.

The 49ers draft pick, AJ Jenkins, had something similar happen to him. His cousin, who was visiting, did a similar prank. When the 49ers really did call Jenkins was in the washroom and thought he was being screwed with by his cousin again. Then his cousin kicked down the bathroom door (literally) to give AJ the phone.

So apparently the first thing he is going to buy is a new bathroom door.

The kid sounds like he has his head on straight. He was an All Big 10 academic and told the 49ers he will relocate right after graduation. 6' tall, fast, and has massive hands. Whether he was worth a 1st when Fleener was still on the board, who knows, but I'm sure Harbaugh knows Fleener well and helped with the decision accordingly.

Coby Fleener reunited with Andrew Luck from Stanford to Indianapolis.

Fleener is a machine at getting north-south and has a great vertical to go up for the ball. I think he fits in well with the newer generation of giant receivers who are #1 redzone threats. However, despite that size he is pretty ineffective when it comes to both run and pass blocking

Rick Spielman basically gave away a free draft pick away as Baltimore gets Courtney Upshaw. They were really high on him. Love these pick!

Denver takes their first pick in the draft, addressing the much needed position of DT with Derek Wolfe.

Solid, Consistant but likely wont pull anything flashy to stand out

Seriously Cleveland is making some really questionable moves again tonight, Schwartz ahead of Martin?
