I just realized i've been to that rink several times that your posted in the OP. We live fairly close so getting there wouldn't be a big problem for me. I would join but right now i'm trying to focus on other stuff. Maybe another time.

Yea just come down, like AC said, it's only a few hours (usually 2hrs) and great exercise. We have a decent turnout today, and everyone is friendly, not overly competitive at all. All types of skill level.

This was my worry too when I first started going, and I've only been groped like twice. So tell your mom to get over it, it's not that big of a deal.
