Was at the Whitecaps game. Left early & caught Kipper's speech on the radio.
Will have to stream the rest, sounds like it was solid.

I fully WEPT through that entire ceremony. Like, full-on blubbering mess. What the hell is wrong with me, lol.

I just had the same thought.
I haven't been to a Flames game in years, but I probably attended 98-99% of Kipper's home games.

And you never had to worry about the backup playing since he played 70 plus games for 7 straight years!!
That is unbelievable.

Is it odd I am standing in my living room in Texas by myself, applauding for Kipper? He is a king.

I did not see Markstrom out there? Was he missing from the bench?

Seeing them flash that graphic where he played 76 one season? Madness.

Was wondering the same when Noodle mentioned him and Vladar. Only saw Vladar.

Lucky! I don't think anybody did.
I was a teen also.
Even then it was among the best times of my life. Having all my old best friends still around and celebrating with them. Family visiting and watching the games together. Watching the run take over the city and reading the sports columns in the paper ever day. Getting in all the game ticket draws hoping to get lucky. Getting into a finals game which was unreal. Walking the red mile and hollering till we had no voice. The comradery with all these fellow calgarians. Every one was united in celebration regardless of your background.
Never felt so close to our neighbours in the city and probably never will again.

Hell yeah. I'd consistently have someone offer to buy it off me virtually every game.
I will be buried in that beauty.

I was away at university in Ontario during the 2004 run. I converted my school mates into Flames fans during that run and many of them still have the Flames as their second team and remain massive Iginla fans. Was an awesome time watching games with a bunch of newly converted Flames fans.

Hey
It was a great ceremony for a fantastic goalie and seemingly a solid fellow
Absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying it that way

On vacation in Europe, stayed up late to watch this live. Could not be missed.
Thank you Kipper. The 04 run was pure magic! LOVED that team, and what they accomplished together.

I was looking over some Kipper videos and the like, then went to his Wiki page.
I'm 11 days older than him.
