Teams have rules for the receivers when the QB starts to scramble. Typically the deepest receiver is asked to just keep going long.

This is what happen when you have a QB that can scramble and throw long.
This is what happen when you have a D that can stop anything and everything.
I have almost forgotten how good our ST can be.

Different teams and different scramble rules.
The common is short receivers break to long and long receivers work back to the QB, and receivers on the opposite side of the field get into the QB's field of vision except for the furthest away who will always run a post.
I don't think that Moose broke off his original route.

Got to say. I am disappointed that Peg's Qb got hurt. They were never beating us after that. I think we still win with their top guy in play- but sure wanted to see it play out
