Not sure why people expect the Flames to change their jerseys for free. Getting a player's name on a jersey is always a risk.

lol it's no more the Flames fault that Dube (allegedly) did what he did than yours. Re-letter your own fugging jersey.

An easy thing the Flames can do is that if a person sends in a Dube jersey, the club will issue a 30% off coupon to use at the Flames store.
This could be a good PR move and it will guarantee to make the Flames more money if the person decides to use the coupon to buy stuff.

On the flip side, I doubt the Flames want to see any Dube jerseys around the rink over the next few years. Then again, what kind of creep would wear it I guess.
Not saying they should pay, but it is probably in their best interests that people get it done.

Offering a free jersey swap has been done before. The New England Patriots did that with Aaron Hernandez when he was charged and convicted of murder. Kraft said it cost them about $250k.

The Flames and NHL clearly want NO PR regarding this. More of a any publicity is bad publicity.

Eh...its not completely unheard of though.
Like when Carlos Tevez defected to Man City or when Torres went from Liverpool to Chelsea, there were deals offered.

I’m one of those people with a Dube jersey. I’ll be fighting to get a new one, this is the right thing to do and I’m helping the build a new stadium. If someone is reading this from CSEC, make it right. Imagine wearing this to a game or something. It’s an awful situation that can be rectified.

Why don't you ask, politely, if they would re-number/letter it, instead of making them read this and come to you?

I originally asked for a discount on re-lettering, that is not what was offered. I was given a coupon for a discounted brand new Fanatics jersey (its clear I can't use it for an older Adidas), which is still going to cost me $150-$200 pending type of jersey I choose. It would be cheaper for me to re-letter the jersey myself and just re-use my current Adidas, then it would for me to purchase the new jersey with discount, but it was still a nice gesture.

All I can get

If I got a garage sale Dube jersey for five bucks, I should be able to parlay that into a brand new one on the Flames' dime.

The Judge should just get Dube to pay for all re-lettering fees.
Lets get nuts!

No kidding.
You got a Dube jersey, pay to get it re-crested, burn it, do whatever. But to expect the Flames to fix your jersey is nuts.
“I pay taxes… give me a new jersey”

Plus, the Flames having a public policy of replacing Dube jerseys means the Flames are calling Dube guilty. Should he be proven not guilty in court, I would expect that Dube could then sue the Flames for defemation of character.
You can de-letter/name yourself for free, so everyone should do that if cost is a concern. Otherwise, get the jersey re-numbered for about $100.

If anyone has a Dube jersey and choose to wear it to a game in the new arena, it will not look bad on the team, it will only looks bad on the person who actually still wearing it in public after the rape thing is out in the open.

Wouldn't he have to demonstrate some kind of material or monetary loss in order to sue? I can't see how giving fans a do-over on their jersey hurts Dube.

Sorry, couldn’t help myself, I have to ask. How are you helping build the event centre and how is that connected to your jersey?
