Does anyone else find it weird the oilers and their fans are trying to retcon la bamba as this long time historic song tied to the oilers?

As a Flames fan I look at it this way:
Monday night could be the DARKEST timeline ever...or the BEST. What it won't be is "middling" or "meh".

Haven't yet decided whether I'll watch the game or not. My wife...who has EDM relatives likely wants to watch although she really doesn't give a crap on her own...just wants her relly's to be happy. She's having none of my comments.

So...Dark or Light. I'm pretty clear on my prefrence.

No, not at all. Joey Moss had this as his favourite song for a long, long time, then Ben Stelter, the kid who died of cancer and became a favourite of the team went viral with saying Play La Bamba, and here we are.

The worst part will be seeing Kane lift the cup. Without him in their line up the last few games they are somehat more tolerable, but of course there’s still Pissy, who’s an even bigger diver-whiner than McDavid.

I do not like Drycycle as a person period.

And there will always be disrespect for McDavid for not exercising his veto on Kane.

So has anyone check on Cali? This is bad enough as an Oiler hater. Us Flames fans have been through a lot but I don't know if I could survive the Flames blowing a 3-0 lead in the SCF

Calling Cali.
Are you going to be at the game?
We are all (most of us here) wishing for the Panthers to prevail.
God dam it, they better win. They are destined to win the SC this year.
Can you help pull this one off ?

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Bob has been hurt since Perry fell on him, Ekblad hurt his ankle when an oiler fell on him, Barkov is concussed and I think Chucky has a bad shoulder or hand. We all know Reinhart is hurt. Leaves the panthers damn thin. As long as mcdavid is performing and the oilers D continues to dominate, Panthers need a miracle. Their role players haven’t stepped up at all like oilers’ have.

Could you imagine being a Panthers fan right now. Having your team get to 3-0, getting your hopes up and then watching them fold like a cheap lawn chair.

Full respect for any of them that have any hope left.

Scoring first will be key. If the Panthers can actually show up and get that first one out of the way, I think they'll be ok.

If Edmonton scores first, the Panthers will throw in the towel and the filthy Oilers will hoist the Cup.

Which Panther is likely to have a more monstrous game than McDavid in Game 7 of a final? The answer is bleak.

Panthers have to score first as that's the first cycle they have to break to win the game. If the Oilers score first it's likely over.

Last game of the year. Cup on the line. Nothing else matters.

You're shot full of cortisone and fueled by adrenaline.

Hope the refs let them play and the Panthers leave it all on the ice at home.

McDavid did nothing last game. No points. Not even a shot. Lost more faceoffs than won. In 18:58.

I agree with people who say Florida needs to open the scoring but at minimum, when it is 0-0, they need to play their style this time.

I confidently guarantee that the Edmonton Oilers will win tomorrow night and hoist the Stanley Cup.

Let's face it, the Panthers are done. Upchuk and the pussycats have nothing left in the tank. They've gotten completely owned 3 games in a row, and it's obvious that the Oilers have figured them out in every facet of the game. They're getting outworked, outskated, outschemed, out everything. They know they can't win. They have their tee times booked.

Upchuk is a bum. Barfov is a bum. Verlaggy is a bum. Reinfart is a bum. Ekbad is a bum. Weakling is a bum. Monpoor is a bum. And Bofraudsky is the biggest bum of all.

Mouthpiece has failed everywhere he has coached. No difference here.

For the 2nd year in a row the kittens will watch another team lift the cup.

I'm not feeling good about this at all, as most of us are. But hear me out...

Because this is going 7 games, they are making "Oilers 2024 Stanley Cup Champions" hats and t-shirts like crazy. There is a chance that in a few months on eBay a pile of these will show up, and we get the chance to buy one and wear it around town ironically and put a dagger in the heart of every Oilers fan that walks past us.

It looks grim, but it's not over.

Which may be even worse news for the Panthers if you think about it. They got handled by the oilers depth on a quiet night for Mcdavid and he doesn’t often have back to back quiet games.
