I couldn't imagine not seeing the water daily. My new office is going to have a great view of the cruise ships this summer.

I couldn't imagine living anywhere else.

Besides... the people here are kind of ok.

What made you move out there? Work? Family?

I married a Cape Breton girl almost 10 years ago. We never really thought about moving out here until Covid, and I started working from home. I have nothing against Calgary, but we couldn't afford a bigger house anywhere near the core. We enjoyed Cranston, but it isn't really Calgary, in my opinion. The biggest factor is family. I have a very small family, and since my mom passed, only my dad is left in Calgary. My brother lives across the country, but we don't really talk anyway. My wife has a lot of family out here, and they have kids, so my two kids have lots of cousins, aunts, uncles, etc. Not long after I accepted a voluntary package from my old company and we made the decision to move, my wife's older brother and his wife decided to move back home too. I never had any real family ties to Calgary, so it made the move easier.

I'm really lucky that my wifes family has a little place on the Mira. Every Friday after work now that the weathers nice we take a 22 min drive to the ocean, play with the dogs and the kids in the forest, and breathe in that salt air. Something about the water is like calming music for my eyes.

I've visited Vancouver quite a few times in the last few years, and there's a lot I don't like about it. Traffic, weather, insane cost of living, but man I miss sea level air. My skin and sinuses feel so damn good after only a few days there, whereas Calgary you need humidifiers and so much damn moisturizer to feel comfortable

So colours look different under different lighting? Shocking.

They are not compared under different lighting, it's that our mind makes us think it is different lighting. It "appears to us" to be under different lighting.

Thats awesome! I'd do the same thing.

I just recently watched 'The Final: Attack on Wembley'

Look, I harbour no illusions that within the ranks of soccer fans there are hooligans, I've been to a Champions' League Final and I found everyone to be very respectful.

But...if going nuts is your bag? Have some rules. So I have a lot of respect for this clip.

An absolutely beautifully sunset approaches on our island tonight. The salt air, warm sun and fiddle music has eased my jangled nerves from yesterdays oiler win

NSCC at the end of the downtown fits like a glove. Can't wait for it to be done (not only for how it's going to give a great shot in the arm to the downtown core, but the construction and traffic disruption ending will be really nice!)

Some people love fiddle music; some people are wrong.

Violin in an orchestra, bring it on. Fiddles, accordions and banjos, these should be avoided.
