I'm not sure how moving Jeannot's $2.6M opens enough cap space for the Lightning to do what they need to do though. I'll take him for free though.

I wonder if the reacquisition of McDonaugh, and the play of guys like Raddysh and Perbix would make Cernak expendable though.

I'd take on Cernak's contract if they were looking to get rid of it.

It's going to be even worse next season.

Because if the pick falls between 11-16 then the Flames are moving their own pick to Montreal. Need it to be a top 10 pick and for Florida to remain good so that we only end up giving up a 20+ pick to Montreal.

I wouldn't get your hopes up on that one, mainly due to the implications with the Monahan-Montreal trade if we don't finish with a top 10 draft pick. Would suck to give up an 11-15 pick and get stuck with the Panthers 25-30 pick type of scenario.

Yup, Flames basically need to be a playoff team or a bottom 5 team for most of the season and they are pretty much a bottom 5 team already. I am still a little nervous Florida will somehow #### the bed...

I don't see them missing the playoffs next year. That would be absolutely terrible though.

Me either but they could have a lot of roster turnover this offseason and weird things happen. Flames basically have to assume Florida won’t have a top ten pick as they make decisions though.

Also as far as speculation: Jeff Marek on 32 thoughts mentioned that he thinks "CGY is a good fit for Tanner Jeannot". It's pure speculation, and Friedman says he didn't hear anything.

I don’t care, I actually really like Jeannot, and I would love to have him here. He’s one of the toughest guys in the league, and can change the course of a game with a hit or a scrap. He drags teammates into the fight. Depends on the cost to aquire though.

We could use something to cheer for next season anyway.
