I'm torn about Leeds though. Considering Leeds were a thorn in the past, but I've got buddies from Leeds that I played with, and what happened to Leeds was a pretty good cautionary tale...I'm always on the fence with Leeds.
Ah well. Either way its at least another year in the Championship for them.
Yeah and the Championship is not going to be nearly as good next season as it was this year. 90 pts is usually more than enough for automatic promotion to the Premier League, but Leicester and Ipswich Town just went crazy this season. Leeds will need to sell some players, but should be the odds-on favorite to earn an automatic promotion spot next season.
As a Saints fan, very happy they won today, but if they don't bring up some top quality players, they will likely find themselves right back in the Championship in short order.

Well...yeah, thats usually the deal. Congrats for your team though!

might get worse for Leeds now, I wouldn't be surprised if they had to sell off quite a few players after missing out on that PL money. Players like Archie Gray should have lots of interest from PL clubs

Yeah I dont know about leeds coming up next year... they apparently owe 190 million pounds in future transfer fee payments. I think probably their best 4-6 players will go and they will still be at risk of points deductions, they bet big on staying in the prem and overspent.
Surprised they didnt come up they had a lot of legitimate talent but nust didnt execute. Southampton will a much weaker epl side, they just do not carry anywhere near the same attacking threat and them and ipswich will be have favourites to go down.
Probably good news for the existing epl teams that result.

Just got an email from Fubo. They're raising their annual fee from $200 to $280. FFS.

I got the same email.
I checked my account and am still on the $99 plan somehow up to now.
I read an article in the NYT or some other publication a year ago about how FUBO were bleeding money and weren’t profitable. I guess this is the result.
Conflicted about fubo/dazn... it's sucked paying more and also how the womens super league, fa cup, championship, epl and champions league are on different platforms, but I at least love the ability to watch any premier league game whenever without cable.
My nhl streaming experience with rogers is ####ing abysmal, it feels like they are still trying to make the product so bad to get people to buy cable TV like it's the 90s - their streaming product is so bad. No timeshifting, forcing people to watch live or wait half a day. I am sure the nhl has declined in popularity/failed to break into new viewers just because of how hard they make it for younger viewers in their 20s almost none of whom buy cable to access the product.
Fubo is a rip off but at least it's relatively modern functionality wise. But yeah that increase is ridiculous.
Maybe textor is trying to raise more money to buy everton the greasy fellow
Would be great if a major player like Amazon or Apple land the next contract in canada. Please don't let it be rogers or tsn, or let it get split up

I did the same and apparently my $150/year plan just renewed in April so the way I read it is I'm good until the next renewal when it will just to $280 if I forget to cancel it.

This hits on the most annoying part for me; the splitting of everything across multiple platforms. I actually think that Fubo is pretty awesome because I can see all the games in one spot across all my devices. Is it too much at $280? Maybe, but then again that's only $25/month and I spend more and way stupider things.
I don't like that you need DAZN and Sportsnet to see the CL/FA Cup and everything like that. I really hope we end up with just one service to see everything. Or maybe you know...a bundled product where everything just comes into your house on one coax cable and you can easily flip between the services to watch the games you want?

I miss cable.
The apps have gotten out of control and the cost is much higher than the good old days where everything was in one spot. We've been duped.

lol ... such a pathetic little club. If the PL is so bad, why don't you do us all a favour and #### off then? Nobody would miss them if they left the PL tomorrow, and that's probably what hurts their little egos the most.

Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has said he is frustrated that the club's achievements on the pitch are clouded by accusations of financial irregularity.
But for many outside the club, the unprecedented success is tainted by allegations that they have breached the Premier League's financial rules.
City were hit with more than 100 charges in February 2023. A hearing is set to start in November, more than 18 months after the accusations were first made public by the Premier League.
"Of course, it's frustrating," Khaldoon said in an interview given to City's official club channels.
This is designed to bully the EPL into backing down on the 115 charges. The vulgar bastards that own City will continue to escalate their vile campaign until the EPL is forced to capitulate. There will be no accountability and no limit to the destruction City unleash on the sport to the point, if isn’t already, not a sport.
The evil ####s that own City, face no accountability in their home country with no limits to their garish and vulgar demands that are met without checks or opposition. Every sinew of their being sickens me.
They can sue the EPL into oblivion if it doesn’t cave. And they will.
The obvious answer is for all the Clubs to resign from the league and create a new one. Let City and, if they choose to join them, Newcastle, #### off to some Super League or whatever.
Just get them right to #### out of our league before it is completely destroyed.

Thats a bit extreme but I get where you're coming from. But we all know how this is going to end.
"City is found Guilty on all charges.....oh! Look at this giant bag of money that has mysteriously appeared! Case dismissed!!"
