Presumably their ledge would be 18. Or they are working on a trade where another team’s ledge is 18.
If they wait until the draft and see what players get picked, #18 may no longer be available. Or maybe their guy goes 19.

Your posting style is abrasive and obviously rubs people the wrong way. If a bunch of posters have issue with your posting style, maybe swallow your pride and tweak it a bit. Read the room.

Odd time for a trade like that. That's the sort of deal that usually happens at the draft in the five minutes between picks 17 & 18.

I don’t think it’s just the Tij train. The posters against drafting Iginla at #9 are putting a lot more emphasis on it than in a “normal” draft year. It’s going both ways.

"Everyone who disagrees with me must therefore be on the draft Tij train, so they're wrong and I'm right! Also anyone who disagrees with me must be doing so out of a personal grudge! It's not me who is wrong, everyone else must be wrong!"
Sorry, your highness.

I dont really see it like that.
For years as a fan and as a reader i have heard constantly that you only get top end defence and centers at the top of the draft. I agree with few exceptions. We have the opportunity to get one of those elusive pieces so we focus on the least important most tradable positions with tij?

I think that’s debatable because we don’t know which centres or defensemen will be available at 9. I’m not drafting a centre or D just to do so. BPA. You obviously don’t rank Iginla overly high. That’s fine. I personally think his game is going to translate well. I’m not hell bent on him at 9. Depends who is still available.

So I will list you the things the pro tij guys have given me for why we should pick him.
Hes an iginla and bob mckenzie says so? Thats the arguments that i have gotten so far? What makes him that much better than a senecke?
He will probably be a thirty goal winger in his prime. The position we need the least and is the most tradable for.

Great thing about where we pick. If all the forwards go that leaves some great defence. If most of the defence goes first then one of the centers should be available.

The sample size of him impressing is much greater than Senneckes

Gonna guess Calgary’s and most teams are a lot different then that.

Does Tij take career long discounts here? there is probably no other player on earth that would take a discount to be in Calgary.
