Yeah that's fair, just wanted that particular game to go longer.

I guess what I want is an Assassin's Creed game but with cats.

Ohh you mean you play the dinosaur?

Speaking of cat games, I played Stray, which was fun, but also mildly depressing haha.
I loved Stray, and played the heck out of it. I most enjoyed it on the 'free' levels, when I could just cat around and explore at my whims.

Little Kitty, Big City looks like it's going to scratch that itch, and I'm getting it on my next set of days off.

I don't think I've ever experienced a single game ruining other games for me quite like Ghost of Tsushima. The game is 4 years old and I still haven't seen sword gameplay anywhere else come close to it. Every game I try that doesn't measure up to it gets immediately ignored. Hopefully Assassin's Creed is able to nail it.

Nothing wrong with a high quality game that leaves you wanting more. There's a fine line where a great game can turn into a merely good game if it overstays its welcome.

RDR2 is that way for me, so was GTA5. Just the sheer openness and freedom of them makes it a ton of fun.

Great deal on a portal with the code. I used mine all day yesterday waiting at the hospital and it was awesome to have.

I have this aversion to even starting 100 hour games right now. And i've got a small pile of them here, including the Witcher 3 which I picked up...ages ago. A bunch that I bailed on almost immediately, as well.

It's like staring at an 1100-page copy of Ulysses on your nightstand, where the mere thought of cracking it fills you with dread--especially when there's a Green Lantern comic on top of it.

I'm about five hours in the Pikmin 4 and it feel like I'm 30% through it.

I'm torn. I'd like to play it before the end of the year, but at the same time, I don't want to play a significantly stripped down version of it. I'll probably wait a bit.

We had dinner with a lot of the Supergiant team at PAX a few years back after their concert. Really nice people and I don't mind the early access process that they did for the original Hades. No exactly worried about a bad product or getting rug pulled at all.

They also did a really neat behind the scenes development series with Noclip that starts here. Maybe it'll give some comfort if people are worried or unfamiliar with the process for Supergiant.

Oh and here is the concert with Darren. He's essentially the composer for all their games.

Been running around in Japan. Back now and catching up on news but what the hell is going on with Xbox?

Surprisingly closing down even more studios. Not able to properly name the damn studios as they are closing. Have an awesome hit with Hi-Fi Rush and publicly point at it as they way they want to change direction, want to make in roads in Japan - and then just kill the studio that made it. Their new president spewing a word salad when asked about it. Phil Spencer and Matt Booty in hiding from social media.

Man, Ninja Theory have to be a dead studio walking already.

I thought they bought Activision, but it seems like Activision bought Xbox.

EDIT:

You ####ing moron.

https://www.theverge.com/2024/5/8/24...rks-matt-booty

Today, one day after Microsoft announced that it would shut down four of its games studios, Matt Booty, head of Xbox Game Studios, held a town hall to discuss the division’s future goals. “We need smaller games that give us prestige and awards,” Booty told employees, according to internal remarks shared with The Verge.

For some listeners on the call, it was a surprising goal: Microsoft had just shut down the Japanese developer Tango Gameworks, which was coming off the small, prestigious hit title Hi-Fi Rush.

Super Sprint was an arcade favourite of mine. Atari is releasing a new version on the Switch that looks fun.
