It was mastered after being mixed, which is standard procedure for commercial releases, though they went a bit more heavy handed than normal to try to polish the sound a bit. The Albini version (without the heavy-handed mastering) was actually released accidentally on a vinyl re-release 20 years ago or so in Germany, and I've heard a rip of that. Because it's the same mix (other than the 2 songs) it really doesn't sound all that different. It's a bit drier, a bit duller, and the vocals do sound slightly buried in parts. But honestly, if I was listening to it casually I don't think I'd really notice a difference other than with the 2 remixed songs.

Alice Munro, a Canadian author who was revered worldwide as master of the short story and who won the Nobel Prize for Literature, has died at the age of 92.

Her publisher said Munro died at her home in Port Hope, Ont., on Monday evening.

"Alice Munro is a national treasure — a writer of enormous depth, empathy, and humanity whose work is read, admired, and cherished by readers throughout Canada and around the world," read a statement from Kristin Cochrane, CEO of McClelland & Stewart, which is owned by Penguin Random House Canada.

"Alice's writing inspired countless writers too, and her work leaves an indelible mark on our literary landscape."

It's crass of me, but the news of Alice Munro's passing like many other nonagenarians' is more of a reminder and surprise to me that she was still alive to begin with.

Roger Corman.

That guy essentially laid the foundations for back-end profits for Film rentals. He set the stage for B-movie ripoffs that, somehow, make money to this day.

I think his Motto was: "I liked that! But I can do it cheaper!"

And I dont mean any of this in a disparaging way whatsoever. There are people who owe livelihoods and careers to Corman.

The man was a true cinematic visionary and will be dearly, dearly missed.

Corman radically changed the B-movie landscape and normalized it's acceptance as a legitimate art form, launched so many careers. Alice Munro radically changed the way that the short story form was viewed and normalized it's acceptance with the masses.

This one has really hit me...Dutchy was around my age, and I remember seeing him when he started at 'Good Lookin' STV in Saskatoon many many years ago.

Heard the news this morning. It was very sad to hear of his passing. Easily one of the best sports reporters on TSN, and all of TV for that matter. Always had a way of delivering the news in a fun way, that no one else could equal. RIP Darren. You'll always be remembered fondly by Canadian sports fans. Bickety Bam!

Not sure if it was news to most but it was to me when it came out that Super Size Me wasn't on the level and most of his health issues were from alcohol abuse.
